Taking Quinny Buzz on plane??

Just booked a holiday to Sardinia for September and was wondering about taking our Quinny Buzz. DS will be just turned 1 when we go, and we are staying near a town, so thought we would walk there in the evenings for food while DS goes to sleep in the buggy. But it is rather hefty when folded, so wasn't sure if it was a good idea to take it and risk it getting damaged.

Should we buy a smaller buggy? I really wanted to avoid getting a nother buggy, as we spent enough on the Quinny in the first place thinking it would last!

think quinny will be OK if you take the wheels off it will fold as small as the umbrella ones anyway.
Have a nice holiday.

I believe that some of the Tour companys can arrange for you to Hire One, (maybe worth while asking) Would that not be easier for you?.

I just read on another thread that airlines count all buggies/prams as fragile and won't pay for any damage and that holiday insurance doesn't always cover!

I wouldn't, for taht reason, take an expensive pram on a plane. I'd buy a buggy from a bootsale/freecycle for as little as possible and then I wouldn't be upset if it was r uined.

I took a, quite frankly, horrible pushchair to france last year, my God it was grim! Blue with teddy bears all over it but I didn't mind if it got knackered on the plane.

You might not be allowed to take it. We wanted to buy the buzz but ended up buying the Speedi because we were told by two shops that the buzz was being banned by airlines because of the automatic movement thing.

We're going away in August and plan to take Speedi with car seat and carry cot as dd sleeps in carry cot....

A friend who travels a lot with hers suggested putting it in a BigBoy golf bag?

Monkeysmama - I have visions of some poor luggage handler who suddenly has a Quinny Buzz pop up in the middle of all the suitcases!!

We've decided to try and get a second hand Maclaren off ebay. I got a really rubbish pushchair off freecycle, but I don't think it's really suitable, as really need one with a hood and seat that reclines, so that DS can sleep in it when we are out & about.

Thanks for the advice guys!

if your going to invest in a lightweight buggy that folds small and reclines and comes with a carry handle and bag, then get a combi dash, weve got one and its fab, very light. got it when we sold the buzz, but still wanted something comfy for ds to sleep in, great for holidays, and fits in the boot of the smallest holiday rental car.

there's one here thats not attracting any bids

the petite star zia is perfect. Just like the quinny zapp but with a recining seat. Folds small, very light and stylish too.Lots of colour ways to choose from. Theres another similar buggy called 'moon' on the market but dont know if you can buy it here in Uk.

Hello, can I ask what u ended up doing? We're in a similar situation. Off to Oz, Little one is only just 4months.

We had a buzz but wouldn't take it to Australia when we went so I bought a cheap Mamas and Papas Aria (very light) for about £50 on ebay (new).
