we are going to longleat centre parcs this w/e and planning on going to longleat aswell, firstly any idea how far the parc is from the zoo?

Also on their website it looks as though the only animals you see is either on safari or pets corner, is this the case? I dont want to take my car into the safari and you can only get their bus if your on public transport (which we wont be doing)

meglet-the monkeys go for all the rubber bits on your car. It's a risk if you have a newish car.
One yr our car bumper was bitten by a tiger...quite exciting really!

Your 20month old will be fineout of their car seat...more fun.

ggirl funnily enough my dad said the rubber bits tend to get trashed. I think we might risk it, only got a 2001 Citroen . TBH the monkeys weren't that exciting last time I went, the wolves were much better!

update.. we went to Longleat today, I think I need therapy to recover.

quite busy, far far busier than when we went in the school holidays 5 years ago. Thanks Animal Park .

20 month DS pooed shortly after getting into the safari park. Not allowed to get out to change him (obviously) and no space in the car due to having parents with us. thankfully he was entertained by the animals but the warmth in the car made it terribly smelly . You can't open your windows in most of the enclosures.

The monkey jungle was gridlocked and the monkeys could run riot. Our car wasn't damaged but we saw a Land Rover have some major bits pulled off its roof. All the monkeys go for the little rubber screen washers.

A female monkey was sitting on our car with it's dead baby in her mouth . Everyone was pointing at it and I think it traumatised a little girl in the car behind.

It took 2 hours to drive through the safari, without stopping for photos. no toilets, no getting out. We were all bursting for a wee by the end of it.

It will be some time before we do that again!

Oh god that brings back some memories.

When we went through the monkey enclosure we were a little alarmed to see everybody pointing and laughing at our car especially as we could see the car in front being literally peeled of all it's black car trim, spools of it everywhere.

This alarm escalated when we saw a pair of hairy feet on the rear window as we realised something was definately being detached. Turns out it was the rear wiper as dp then saw a gang of our furry friends drinking from it,dp was madly pressing on the wash button thinking it might repel them-oh no!!!!!!!!

We get into the lions and with 3 under 3(2 not long out of nappies)ended up with both our twins needing a poo and no air con(long since broken). As a result of us being trapped inside a rather pungent ,hot car,all 5 of us tumbled out at the end gasping for fresh air.

The kids adored it though ,still go on about it but we'll be using our Tesco pints at Legoland this year
