I’ve been out of peak season and is beautiful and lots to do. What kind of holiday do you want!

mtobrokeme · 09/08/2026 18:10

Absolutely beautiful! I love Ibiza Town and it has one of the best Tapas restaurants I’ve been to!

GardenCovent · 09/08/2026 18:25

Amazing. I’ve been when I was a child, when I was a teenager clubing, with my husband, again clubing, and multiple times now as a family.
It is a beautiful island and has something for everyone.
Lots of quiet parts, even the busier resorts don’t really get busy very late so you could still enjoy it there

It’s beautiful. We went in 2023 and had a lovely time, we went to Cala Pada and Santa E - the quieter bits really, we went as a family with Ds aged 10 at the time and dd aged 20 (Ds has autism). So obviously we weren’t interested in partying etc, just nice beaches and lovely food etc and it ticked all the boxes.

My son returned last night and said he'd had the best tapas he's ever had too!

If it was La Bodega Eivissa then it will have been! Ooooh I could eat it now!

Where in Ibiza and why are you going, ie quiet holiday or clubbing. I e done both, Ibiza is beautiful, Ibiza town is fabulous for people watching and the vibe.you can avoid the clubs totally,or centre yourself round the clubs and bars.

clearly it has a clubbing reputation. But there is so much more to it than that,

Exactly. I went recently and ended up in San Antonio because that's where the first bus from the airport went. I'd never go to an 'Ibiza club' but in the daytime it was fairly quiet and I had a wander around the back streets, had a lovely lunch in a small traditional restaurant which was quite cheap and then went to the beach for a couple of hours. I then moved on to Ibiza Town for a walk around the marina and old part, which was beautiful.

We've also been to Santa Eulalia for a beach and tapas eating holiday, which was lovely and quiet.

I don't know what 'people watching' is or why it's something to do on holiday but there was two women fighting in the airport while I was waiting on the way back. That was memorable.

I met my DH there. It’s beautiful and relaxing away from places like San Antonio and Playa. Avoid Bossa, planes overhead

Serifos · 09/08/2026 19:34

Expensive and overrated

Clariana · 09/08/2026 19:34

It is lovely, there are some amazing areas and beautiful quiet coves and resorts.

In my opinion though the problem is the flights, we have been twice and had obnoxious, drunk people on the planes, probably going to Ibiza for the clubs. Totally ruined it for us as it was quite intimidating in an enclosed space.

Despite it being beautiful, we wouldn't go again.

mishmashmess · 09/08/2026 19:37

Ibiza Town is fantastic, and there are a lot of beautiful restaurants around the island (Cala Gracioneta / Amante, for instance) that are bucket-list-worthy. However, I thought it was noticeably more expensive that Mallorca, and it would be very easy to spend a fortune there. Being a smaller island, it also lacks the things to do you get elsewhere (eg museums / historic buildings). If you have a healthy budget you'll love it. Also, see above re: the people on the flights. We've had the same issue on flights to Mallorca - nearly having to turn the plane round as a Welsh stag party that seemed to have been drinking since God was a lad were misbehaving.

mondaytosunday · 09/08/2026 19:49

@Bjorkdiditwell blow me over! People watching is when you sit at a café or wherever and enjoy watching the people walk by, wonder what their job is, relationship, eavesdropping, questioning why they chose to wear that top with those trousers, fantasise what if that man offers to whisk you away… just sitting and relaxing and taking in the atmosphere!
I’ve never been to Ibiza but my in laws had an apartment there for ever and spent five months a year there (EU citizens, and of course knew about four languages).

Did he do all the partying?

Santa Eulalia is gorgeous and far away from the partying resorts.

ShesRunningOutTheDoor · 10/08/2026 18:08

People watching is same as safari but looking at humans and it’s a most excellent thing to do with a coffee or a drink on a sunny afternoon @Bjorkdidit

We really liked it (and we are late 50’s now). Some beautiful rural areas, full of fruit groves - hire a car to see the real Ibiza. Amazing sunsets, fabulous food and drinks, we love sitting in a chilled bar overlooking the sea with great music playing in the background. We found some fantastic quiet family beaches and it’s very easy to avoid the big beach clubs and that vibe but it’s all there if you want it. It’s not a mega cheap place - there are some incredibly expensive restaurants and beach clubs like the Blue Marlin but there are much cheaper places too and sometimes the party just starts up spontaneously at a bar.

We did enjoy a night of 80’s music at the HardRock Hotel - mostly over 30’s and a great atmosphere. Pasha was good fun too.
