Any thoughts on whether it’s worth the ££££. We’re only in Singapore for 3 days on a blow out hols to the far east . Just debating if it’s worth it just because I really really want to go in the rooftop pool . Anyone stayed there? What did you think?

went there for a special birthday …
was definitely worth it .
Enjoy x

Junaluma · 05/08/2026 22:25

I wouldn’t say it’s luxurious. It’s more Instagram worthy as opposed to a luxury hotel.

Worth it if you want to use the infinity pool which is only available for guests but if not then I’d recommend Raffles

boredsolicitor · 05/08/2026 22:48

thank you - is it a good location for sight seeing the city?

Definitely visit but essentially it’s a hotel atop a shopping mall. We did actually stay at Raffles 3 years ago which was lovely but unfortunately the hotel didn’t really deal well with the hoardes of instagrammers who were not spending but had the cheek to ask you to be quiet when you were eating breakfast because ‘they were filming content’ 🙄

3 days is about the max you’d want to spend in Singapore I’d say.

burnoutbabe · 05/08/2026 23:20

I visited recently for a cruise and looked at it but overall it was too costly. I’d begrudge paying the prices for breakfast or a coffee. We stayed at oasia downtown pre cruise (doing club level so could check in 10am arrival day) and outback hotel on sentosa post cruise. £220 per night )inc breakfast and evening drinks/food) for 1st and £120pn for 2nd. Much better than £800 per night.

Truetoself · 05/08/2026 23:26

I wouldn’t wanna stay there as it’s basically a mall with three towers and a lovely pool. However we went to a restaurant next to the pool and the food was out of the world. We also went to the rooftop bar before we went for lunch.

Ruthietuthie · 05/08/2026 23:30

My preference is for the Fullerton. It's a more luxurious hotel in a historic building and more reasonably priced. You can swim in the iconic infinity pool on top of the Marina Bay Sands without being a guest there.

earlyshirley · 06/08/2026 06:14

Rammed with instagrammers taking pictures of themselves. Definate no for us.

Great hotel.
Used to live there and always took visitors to the MBS rooftop bar. As paying for a drink was better value than the viewing platform.
As for location it’s probably where you want to be, I had friends who stayed on Orchard Road and were disappointed not to be in Marina Bay even though Dhoby Ghaut MRT is the biggest interchange. Depends what you want to do whilst you’re there.

Agree with this. The Fullerton is a luxury hotel without all the (non spending!) insta crowd you get at Marina Bay. Do eat at the rooftop restaurant though, it’s amazing and the views are out of this world.

Funderthighs · 06/08/2026 07:48

We stayed at the Pan Pacific in January which was lovely and was walking distance to Gardens by the Bay. We could see MBS from our room. The views from MBS are amazing but we were more than happy with our choice of hotel. It had a lovely pool and the breakfast buffet was the out of this world.

TeamGeriatric · 06/08/2026 07:49

It's a good location, it's right next to Gardens by the Bay (should watch the night show) and in the vicinity of the Merillion statue, Singapore Flyer and Lau Pa Sat hawker market. Metro station right underneath the hotel. Singapore is my preferred stopover en route to Australia, it's normally 1 or max 2 nights for us, and I have twice decided I'm going to stay at this hotel and both times rechecked the price and been deterred! We have kids aged 11+, so for us the price is £1,200/night for a family room. Last time we stayed a couple of nights we stayed at the Swissotel in the end. Nothing spectacular but perfectly nice.

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 06/08/2026 07:50

We stayed at the Pan Pacific in Marina Bay and I’d look at the Park Royal Marina Bay too. Much better value and great hotels.

hannahm · 06/08/2026 07:51

Literally just returned from Singapore. We stayed at the Four Seasons which was lovely and much more reasonably priced. We went to the rooftop bar at MBS with the pool for drinks and food. The infinity pool which you can only access as a guest was rammed and so I was glad we didn’t stay there. The hotel seems quite impersonal too. The bar though was amazing so I think stay somewhere else and visit. Grabs are fairly cheap and there are buses/MRT which we used regularly to get back to our hotel.

dazzlingdeborahrose · 06/08/2026 07:51

I found it quite soulless when we visited. Way too big and generic. Views from the roof were incredible though. We stayed at Ritz Carlton not too far away.

Flatandhappy · 06/08/2026 07:55

I would definitely prefer the Fullerton. Love Singapore.

SilverCoins · 06/08/2026 08:16

I live in Singapore and usually recommend Raffles if you can afford it and it's the only time you'll come here (much stricter on no guests/ Instagramers these days but LongBar queues still awful) Fullerton for luxury and convenience given it's walking to museums and MBS etc, Warehouse Hotel by the river for something different especially if you've been a few times or head to Sentosa if you just want to crash between flights or really just here for kids and not to sight see. But honestly it's teeming with good hotels and public transport is so good nowhere is far.

Lordofmyflies · 06/08/2026 09:55

We stayed there last August for 2 nights as a stop over. It’s a fabulous location and the rooms are beautiful. We had a room overlooking the gardens of the bay - stunning. Breakfast can be taken on the roof. The pool was empty when we were there so I guess that’s down to chance.
We ate at butchers block in raffles which allowed us to have pre dinner slings in the bar without queuing.

Oh we did Levo? Was lovely for lunch and not much more than just paying to access the viewing platform.

Thank you so much everyone. I’ll have a look at the others mentioned

I’m a long term regular visitor to Singapore for work and watched the Marina Bay Sands being built.

l agree with the comments about the iconic Fullerton. I’ve been in both, but work puts me in a more modest but functional studio for visits; l like to have a kitchenette.

The pool at Marina Bay is exclusively for hotel guests but you can visit the roof top.

Given the short time you are there though, consider how much time you are going to actually be in the hotel.

The weather is tropical. You can expect rain most afternoons, so suggest you factor that into your plans.

Given the temperature and the humidity it is worth booking somewhere with a pool to cool off. Also take a cardigan out and about with you, aircon there in public buildings tends to be freezing.

Have a lovely time OP. PM me if you would like other suggestions.

I feel the Marina Bay Ssnds is not that centrally located
bit it depends what you want. You are near the grand prix circuit. The pool is exclusively for hotel guests and I personally think there’s better out there. I would have a look at the Raffles hotel if you did went to indeed splash out. Their pool is lovely as are the grounds (you can tour those with a member of staff )

McSpoot · 08/08/2026 06:23

Raffles is a good shout (I didn't have problems with instagramers, luckily) but I also really like the Fairmont which is right across the street (can get a room with a great view of the bay).

I don’t want to turn this into a debate, but l would suggest that Marina Bay Sands (pleasant walks alongside Singapore River, the Quays and easy access to Gardens by the Bay) is better located than Raffles, which is alongside 2 busy roads.

For somewhere to stay, l would recommend the Clarke Quay area.

Clearinguptheclutter · 08/08/2026 08:14

It’s a few years since I’ve been but I’m sure there are nicer places, that said I’d recommend going up to the bar. Fab views!
