What are some beautiful, remote places to go away for a week in the UK? Remote as in no wifi connection 🤣

applecross peninsula. beautiful.

Plenty of remote getaways in Devon and Cornwall. More details needed really.

Lundy Island. Gorgeous setting. Practically cut off from the world. Occasionally when out walking, you'll pick up a signal, but there is no actual wi-fi available.

One small shop.
One pub/restaurant.

Lots of accommodation choices.

And, if you time it right - puffins!! 😄

Just anywhere that’s pretty

Keld in the Yorkshire dales. I went to stay there after my mum died. It was so remote. No phone signal so I couldn't be bothered. Really pretty waterfalls nearby and lovely walks.

The outer Hebrides. The beaches of Harris and the Uists are stunning. There will be wi-Fi in some areas but also plenty of spots without .

We spent a week in Lewis once - it was remote and beautiful but never got above 8 degrees in May!

Ceredigion coast, we were a few miles south of Mwnt last year with no phone signal! It’s beautiful too and less busy than a lot of places in the UK

St Kilda?

Agree Knoydart is a good shout. Or Kinloch Rannoch/Corrour Station (of that 'it's shite being Scottish ' scene from Trainspotting).

Isle of Carna looks amazing!

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 06/08/2026 08:24

You cannot stay on St Kilda. Most Hebridean islands with guest houses are remote or try the Orkneys. The Highlands in Scotland feels remote. You can pretty easily lose traffic! The Scilly islands are good too. Cornwall is definitely busier than Scotland!

Ullapool northwards in the far north-west of Scotland is amazing, though can't guarantee the weather of course.
It's a bit busier with the popularity of the NC500 route, but that's still very quiet indeed and feels very remote.

I agree with @HurdyGurdy19 Lundy is the ultimate for no wifi (although you can access it in the church). I've been 6 or 7 times and it is my ultimate reset destination.
Accommodation is all through the Landmark Trust and can often be booked up quite far in advance. It's never busy and feels very remote.

I’ve just been staying in the Borders area of Scotland and then into Northumberland. We’ve been surprised how empty that feels! No need to get on an unreliable boat service either.

Thanks everyone x

I’m not sure about no wifi but I’ve always liked the idea of Herm and Sark - both car free islands in the Channel Islands.
