Where would you go for a three week adventure in January?

I have 3 weeks off from 27th Dec - 18th Jan. I want an adventure with my friend from Scotland!

We looked at flying out to Mexico then doing Central America as a group tour. However, we need a visa just to travel through Honduras. That is ok for me (I live near London) but a pain in the a-- for Scottish friend to attend a 5 minute interview at the Honduras Embassy for a £30 visa.

Where would you go for an adventure if you had 3 weeks off in January. Want somewhere memorable for NYE. We are both 30 years old and single.

Reunion, a French island off Mauritius. Home the volcanic cirques . Spectacular scenery

Agree with Sri Lanka, perfect in Jan for a 3 week tour!

Without a doubt, snowboarding. Maybe Italy or Canada.

I'd explore Scandinavia and finish with a week of Aurora chasing in northern Finland.

The days are really short in January- 6 hours of daylight or less. You’d need to wait out snow days. Navigate lots of closed roads either seasonal or temporary. It would be very challenging and difficult to travel this region in January. The driving is challenging and not for the faint hearted.

I don’t understand why people make such extreme recommendations to a question like this. The OP said she is looking for a warm destination!

Tenerife

Is this a joke?

I’d do Hong Kong if you also do Vietnam/Singapore, we went last Christmas, we were lounging around the pool and in T-shirts around Ocean Park, but it wasn’t serious sunburn temperatures. In fact we might go again this Xmas! Have done Thailand and Cambodia at Christmas, perfect warm temperatures. Again T-shirt weather, bit warmer than HK. Wouldn’t take kids to Cambodia though, so unlikely to go again anytime soon. Malaysia is HOT in Dec/Jan FYI. Singapore will be the same. I was there a few years back, it was uncomfortable outside but I was PG.

We're going to SE Asia Jan - itinerary not yet finalised - Prob Vietnam and Cambodia to include a cruise of several days on the Meekong and some beach days
