Cheap last minute holiday search

Probably hoping for a unicorn, but I’ve been looking for a last minute trip away for myself and one DC. Was hoping for a bargain, but are last minute deals not a thing anymore? I’m probably out of touch with costs but jeez!

Mainland Spain would be great, anything from 5-7 nights but less than £2K all inclusive.

I just booked a real bargain for me and my teen to Ibiza!

What I did was look on skyscanner - enter destination "Everywhere" and look at cheapest return flights on your preferred dates. Our flights to Ibiza were under £20 per person. Then have a look at Booking.com for hotels for those dates and check "All-inclusive".

Ibiza, Palma Mallorca, Menorca and Croatia appear to be the cheapest destinations when it comes to flights this August.

How old is your kid and what airports can you get too?

And are you open to places other than mainland Spain - I'm bored, I will look

How old is DC? It's affects prices hugely.

Where flying from? London vs the West Country matters too....

I've also seen real last minute bargains on "On the Beach" to mainland Spain this August.

Have just been on Tui, one adult, one kid aged 12, AI, 7 nights, leaving 20th August from London airports -lots coming in under £2k for both of you.

But on your question, no I don't find last minute are as cheap as they used to be- I think because it is so easy for people to find last minute deals they don't have to discount them by as much

I've paid £1800 for 3 nights in Majorca 4* AI for 2 Adults & 2 Children on 17 August flying from Birmingham which is expensive with EasyJet.

Have you thought about a cruise OP? I was looking for a standard all inclusive to Spain or similar but was shocked at the prices! We then booked a cruise with TUI last minute that includes everything (flight, transfers food/drinks etc) and this worked out at just over £2k for 2 adults. So for a child this would be cheaper. And it meant we saw 4 different countries rather than 1. Lots for kids on board too!

Can I ask which countries you visited? and any links?

Look on the late deals section of jet2holidays.com, you might find something there, filter by trip advisor rating 4 and above to avoid anything less nice.

We did Spain, (Palma and Palermos), Sardinia and Florence or Pisa in Italy and then Toulon and Villafranche in France which you could do a day trip to Monaco etc.
