I can't cope with the one at Syon Park anymore. I don't mind a 30 - 45 min drive to get somewhere. I don't even mind an hour's journey!

Any suggestions gratefully received .

a couple of years ago from a local playgroup, I bought an amateur-looking a5 spiral bound book on almost every playgym / school/ nursery in my local area. I think it was called little world or something like that and was my bible whilst I was a sahm.

I have no idea of its origins but perhaps the local council do one? Like 'out and about in surrey with kids' which you can get from your local smiths?

I've seen that too, oatcake. There is also the London Parents' (or Babies') Directory.

We went to one in a rugby club in Kew which was rough n ready but great for very little ones.

Hi,
I'm sure someone must have mentioned Snakes and Ladders by now, at Syon House in Isleworth/Brentford. Has 3 areas for different age groups, plus an outdoor play area. Can get a bit manic in the areas for older children, esp on a Sunday, but our kids have always loved it. Also, Bockett's Farm nearLeatherhead now has a couple of indoor soft play areas in addition ot the animals and ourdoor areas, but might be too far away (they have a website you can check out).

A second vote for topsy turvy world at brent cross. It's clean and new and they actually have good, cheap food.

MarsLady · 15/02/2005 23:08

Topsy Turvy world. Fab. DD1 and DD2 had birthday party there. Great place, lovely seating upstairs with newspapers, smoothies and peace!

PuffTheMagicDragon · 15/02/2005 23:42

Topsy Turvy looks good - my two are 3.7 and 19 months - is it suitable for their age (it mentions a toddler area, I'm just wondering how good it is).

brilliant

Mine really enjoyed it there. Not as mad a Clown Town which I can't bear

PuffTheMagicDragon · 15/02/2005 23:51

I'll take them this week .

It looks fab! DS is only 10 months old...think he'd have trouble with it just now, but definitely one for the future! Thanks, ML!

ChicPea · 16/02/2005 00:42

Fab thread! Lots of ideas - thanks!

vivat · 16/02/2005 13:22

There's a new one called Hugos in Richmond. Just off Sheen lane I think. It's like Bramleys

SofiaAmes · 16/02/2005 21:22

Puff, I've only been weekday mornings during term time and there have only been young kids because the older ones are at school. My two are 2 and 4 and it's absolutely perfect for their ages. I'd be curious to know what it's like after school or during halfterm. It's quite a bit smaller than the one at syon park, so it may not appeal to older kids which is a good thing when you've got younger kids.

Pollyanna · 17/02/2005 19:36

Another vote for topsy turvy here! had ds's birthday party there (he is 6) , but my other 2 aged 1 and 4 loved it too. Food is good and it is clean. (doesn't smell of chips like Clown Town).

janeybops · 17/02/2005 19:40

Haethrow Gym is good with a sprung floor but no cafe.

Feltham AirParcs swimming pool has one I believe and so does the Brentford leisure centre near Chiswick Roundabout. Not been to either though so not sure what they are like.

Egham leisure Centre has a nice small one. I liked it.

Agree about Snakes and Ladders, went yesterday and it was HELL. Far too busy...

I always to to the family days out website:

to find places to go on the weekend, it's brill!!

alison222 · 16/06/2007 12:14

yet another vote for Heathrow gym. The children adore it - but like all the others avoid Saturday morning and school hos - or go early or last thing in the afternoon if a school holiday.

How old are your children? it can make a difference to what people recommend
