Ideas for a two week Easter holiday with beach and culture

Looking for ideas for Easter - ideally 2 weeks long haul with a beach but also some exploring / culture / history, ideally in a city / cities.
2 adults and a 4 year old, flexible budget but not silly money

We are going to Singapore / Malaysia / Thailand for 3 weeks Xmas & NY so discounted those

also discounted & almost discounted (pending different opinions hence the point of this thread!!)

Kerala & Goa - too hot + concerns about cleanliness on beaches (same for Sri Lanka although from my understanding not as hot?)
Vietnam, Cambodia - too early after Xmas / too similar (well I KNOW not the same but you get what I mean) + Vietnam kind of planned for Xmas 2027
Japan, South Korea, China - too cold
Bali, Philippines - concerned about facilities, travel time and cleanliness

Middle East - the orange lunatic + not our bag tbh
Seychelles, Mauritius - too much beach and not enough of everything else
Colombia - a contender but have been put off by the prices in Cartagena (just seems a playground for Americans) & the hard work of getting to actual nice beaches (incl San Andres)
Brazil - we have been to Rio last year same sort of time and absolutely loved it, so again kind of discounted it but would love to go back, maybe too soon though
Argentina - same as Brazil, loved Buenos Aires although was not quite beach / pool weather
Chile / Peru - no beach options / not warm enough
Mexico City is an option, but struggling to find the picture perfect beach combo; fly to Cancun and do Yucatan and maybe Holbox also an option but the car free / rental car logistics puts me off
Guatemala, Belize - flights are too expensive
Caribbean - seems set up for AI and we don't want that
Australia - too far
Zanzibar, Kenya - safety concerns, the 4 yr old is making us more cautious; same about South Africa though not sure this would be warm enough anyway?

Failing this (not hard given the above!!!)
would love recommendations for a week exploring in Europe.
I know you cannot guarantee nice weather but would like at least a good chance of it and we've already done Andalucía, Barcelona, Valencia etc, Provence, Languedon, Puglia, Sicily.

thank you !!!!

Costa Rica or Riviera Maya

Probably not much culture but I’m going to the Gambia with Tui,

beaches supposed to be good plus some safari and river trips.

Slightly off beat but Hong Kong? We swam at the beaches at the back of the island.

Greece? Athens for a week and then Crete? Plenty of culture in both places and could be warm enough for beach/pool but not stupidly hot.
You'd probably have to book it all separately: flights, transfers, car, flat/hotel, ferries.

There are plenty of non-AI places if you look for them. Two weeks of AI can be boring but a few days might make a break from cooking.

Okinawa / Japan?

I would’ve said South Africa (beaches + safari), but then read you’ll have a 4 year old. That’s probably on the too young side for a safari, unless you organise a private one and they’re good at staying quiet for long periods… Some beaches are probably still warm enough if you start there late March as Easter is quiet early next year.

Costa Rica?

I wouldn’t discount Mauritius unless you’re set on half the time being spent doing city, cultural things. I spent 10 days there recently and there was plenty of history and culture to explore - but I went with a local friend who showed me the non-touristy version of the country. It’s true that we barely spent time in the urban centres.

Definitely Greece. Lovely beaches and obviously tons of culture. Hugely varied.

If you want someone to help organise and plan an itinerary and with transport between different bits of the holiday, we used a company called Stubborn Mule travel for a 9 day Crete holiday, across several bases - they found us nice hotels with connecting rooms for teens, drove us out one day for archeology visits and a cookery course, arranged it so we could do a gorge walk across the middle of the island and they took our bags and met us at the other side and arranged speedboat to a quieter village for another few days, and booked a kayaking trip, then arranged transport up to Knossos etc. for the next bit of the holiday. It meant we could travel around, but not have to plan all the logistics ourselves. Some days we had a guide with us and other days we just did our own thing. Very flexible to whatever we wanted.

Thank you everyone.
We did Athens last year as a city break and Crete the year before as a (end of) summer holiday.
Costa Rica is expensive but on the list for when DS is older, as I'd like him to remember / appreciate it, we'd be unlikely to go again due to cost.
Same for Japan and I don't think Okinawa would be warm enough anyway at that time of year.
We do plan to to fly to Hong Kong and pair it with a beach place / Vietnam or Cambodia or Penang maybe but as I said too soon after our Xmas/NY trip.

we are leaning towards Yucatan peninsula, car hire and Merida, Valladolid, lesser known beaches, maybe Tulum for a bit, Rapido lagoon, Uxmal/Ek Balam - would love to hear from anyone who did this ?

would also love to know more about South Africa though if anyone has more tips ?
4 yr old very good at all aspects of travelling including sitting still (even if I do say so myself)
