Just booked TUI flights and chose the wrong dates! Help!

I am not sure how it happened but I booked flights and the calendar was on a different month to what I thought it was on. Luckily I've realised straight away as I went to book an airport hotel and the days of the week didn't tally with the date.

Of course their customer service line is closed until 10 tomorrow. I feel sick. How likely is it I will be able to change the dates, get a voucher or get a refund.

I'm so brain foggy at the moment ( recent diagnosis of overactive thyroid alongside peri-menopause) I shouldn't be allowed to do anything grown up anymore. 😟

I made this mistake. They we're fine with it.

@ByQuaintAzureWasp Do you mean they allowed you to change your booking? Was the unintentional booking leaving in less than 14 days? When was this?

It doesn't apply to flights. I've found out in the US it's law to allow cancellation of flights within 24 hours. Not so in the UK, although there are airlines that have this built into their business. Ryanair being one, surprisingly!!

It has recently become the law in Europe too (I think the period is even longer), maybe the UK will follow suit 🤞

Hopefully. Too late for me though. 😀

I’ve also experienced the thing with the date changing on the Tui website.

It’s bad that they won’t let you even change the dates. I didn’t realise it was a different rule for flight only. I cancelled a holiday within 24 hours then rebooked a different one but accidentally booked it 3 times and they sorted it out for me. I’d escalate it and see if anyone can help change the dates.

Para 4.2.1 of this suggests it’s possible for a fee unless within 72 hours https://www.tuifly.be/en/legal/conditions_de_transport

@blueplates I suppose too late to try and get it charged back via your credit card - if it was paid by cc rather than dc. You’ve probably got no actual legal right to do so but I don’t know that it still might be worth a try 🤷🏼‍♀️ nothing to lose and possible that tui might just allow it to go ahead rather than the extra time/money to deny it.

Oh no OP 😥 Any chance you could change your plans and spontaneously just go on the dates you booked?

I have made similar very expensive errors in the past 🤦‍♀️

I made a mistake with dates recently. With Jet 2. The options online to fix were thousands. I called the helpline and an amazing customer service assistant helped. Moved dates, extra cost of £360 rather than the thousands!

Jet2 seem to have the best customer service out of all the (budget) holiday providers
