Krakow with kids

Really want to go to krakow this summer with family and my kids who are both under 10. Never been before.
If you have been with younger children, how did you find it? Was there plenty to do? I’ve researched and found it’s very family friendly and very walkable but looking for personal experiences from those who have been with kids and if you found there was enough to do?
TIA

We went there and at that time the kid needed a stroller. Hence we didn’t go to the salt mine. The other option was the concentration camp and didn’t think it was quite appropriate nor interesting for kid. There was a castle and a museum. So… no I am not sure if I would recommend Krakow personally. We will definitely go again as she is more grown up.

Depends how long you are going. The main square has horse and carriage rides and one of my kids loves seeing horses. There used to be a big swimming pool with slides on the outskirts somewhere. The castle has a dragon that breathes fire every hour that kids seem to love (but I thought was a bit underwhelming). I am sure you could fill a few days with fun stuff. It's a beautiful city.

My kids are school aged and love walking so I’m hoping we can find more interesting stuff to do. I’m thinking of a day trip or two and have seen there’s a zoo. We are going for 4 nights

Honestly, its not a city I'd bring kids to. There is so much to see but quite a bit isn't child friendly. I wouldn't take children under 12 to the camps abd only at 12 if they've been taught about it beforehand. We did a great walking tour which was incredibly interesting but again a bit graphic for children, there's also the fact that these places require respect and some people might be upset if children aren't quiet etc in such a place as the concentration camp. The salt mine is fabulous but a lot of narrow stairs so be ready for that and the lift out is very crowded. Overall I'd pick a different city of I was travelling with children. If you do go and want to visit the concentration camp book your tickets early, it sells out. We took the train there and the bus back, with children I'd use the bus both ways.
