Eurocamp in Northern France

I’m looking at booking a last minute holiday this summer and would like to try Eurocamp. Kids are 8 and 9 and we would be getting the ferry to Cherbourg so looking at northern France, although don’t mind a bit of a drive. Can anyone recommend which one? I’m driving myself crazy looking at them all on the website. Are they all pretty similar?

There are differences, depending on the size, style and amount of activities each site has. I would narrow it down by what your family enjoys (e.g. a lively waterpark, or beach access), what the reviews say, and how long you want to drive for.

For example, I did Domaine Des Ormes in May, which was brilliant. As a family, we wanted a decent on-site shop and lots of adventure activities, so we did not have to use the car unless we needed to. It meant a lot less stress, and the kids spent most of the day in the forest or the pool.

No, they’re not all similar. Work out what sort of holiday you want. Do you want to be well-placed for lots of day trips exploring the local area? If you’d rather not go out much, then you need somewhere with enough facilities onsite to keep the dc entertained. Do you want to be able to walk to the nearest shops and restaurant? Do you want direct beach access? Will your dc want to join a kids club and/or do organised activities?

Domaine des Ormes looks great, although a lot more expensive for the dates I’m looking.

Looking for a site with plenty to keep the kids entertained, good pool area, some options for eating out if we don’t want to cook every night. Not fussed about being close to a beach but would probably do one or two day trips outside of the park. At the minute I’m thinking La Croix du Vieux Pont looks like a good option?

What accommodation do people usually book? I’m thinking the premium option as don’t want it to be too basic?

We enjoyed Port de Plaisance near Benodet.

Camping La Capricieuse has quite a bit to do onsite and some nice day trip options. What I love is that’s it’s walking distance to a nice sandy beach as well as loads of shops, cafes, a bakery etc…

I recommend the company Yelloh! , we find them cheaper than Eurocamp and Huttopia and better equipped inside ( I.e. dishwasher )
