Ideas for a 5 person family holiday under £6,000 in late July

I'm rubbish at booking holidays, hence why I haven't done it!

Please help me by suggesting something I could look at for under 6000 inc food, 2 adults, 1 teen, 2 preteens, last week of July for ideally 10 days, but 7ok.

Either a 'niceish' AI resort (don't think i can get this for my budget during school hols, but maybe if someone can recommend somewhere where we could all fit into one room?)

Or a location I could find a villa with a pool in an area that has some other stuff to do or see.

I would like eurocamp but it seems the good places are fully booked.

We like activities!

I'm thinking maybe Northern Portugal (haven't been there before), corfu (looks pricey or....

Honestly the indecision is the worst part. If you can suggest anything you've done with a similar budget and similar kids i would be super grateful!

where can you fly from and are you willing/able to drive and take the ferry or tunnel?
I think you can forget nice AI for 10 days on that budget :(

Rui Negril in Jamaica? Totally left of field suggestion, but you get more form your money leaving Europe. I have been to Negril, but not stayed in an AI resort. It's £7,5k for AI for a week for 5 people (2 rooms). It did rain at lunchtime every single day at Easter when we visited, usually just 30 mins or so, and weather looks much the same now, but weather could be worse in July, but a risk I'd take. Dominican Republic is cheaper than Jamaica.

Happy to fly from anywhere in England or Wales. Happy to drive.

I've only been to Europe before and hadn't considered leaving. Will look, thanks for the idea.

I’d go to Ischia an island 1 hour by Ferry from Naples. No driving required.

Loads of hotels on the island have all inclusive or half board options. They all have their own thermal spas or deals with nearby public spas. There is much to see on the island from historical castles to beautiful gardens, beaches, thermal spa in the sea, vineyards, mountains to hike, towns with pretty views. It’s enough to fill a week. Then you have Procida the island next door which is so unique. And the whole of the Amalfi coast, Vesuvius, Pompeii and Naples as potential day trips.

The best bit is the price. Ischia is very good value and your money will go far here. It’s full of Italian and German holiday makers, rather than the Americans/ Asians/ Brits on the rest of the Amalfi coast, hence why I think it’s much cheaper.

The flight and ferry is so easy to do- we did it with primary age kids last year and it was a doddle. We didn’t pre book - just rocked up to the port in a taxi from airport (again easy and not very far). We jumped on the next ferry.

The other place we did recently with the kids in Italy was Camping Bella Italian on Lake Garda. Despite the name we had a chalet/ bungalow. Location is fantastic and full of families. There’s so much fun to be had locally- from aqua park, movie land, gardaland, an amazing aquarium. Then cycling and boat trips. We found it really good value but it is busy in summer (where isn’t though!)

Again no car needed for the Lake Garda campsite. It’s very well located

Amazing @Crazyinlove90 thank you so much

Check centre parcs in Europe too, they're often a lot cheaper than the English ones.

Have a look at the Valamar website and enter the dates you want. There are some all inclusives/HB available for less than £6k but flights will be extra.
