Paris hotel recommendations please.

I can’t stop dithering. I have been to Paris many times but having lived in Sydney now for many years I don’t get there often. DD (adult) and I spent four nights there last year and had an Airbnb in the Marais. It was a great area but a total pita as there were so many regulations and the host kept contacting us so I really want a hotel or Aparthotel this time. DD and I will be there for four nights next month, DH and I will be celebrating a significant anniversary for four nights in September. My preferred area is always left bank but the places we used to stay seem long gone. Would like around £200 (UK) a night with my stay with DD, happy to pay more with DH. I would really appreciate any recommendations please. Would like to be able to walk around rather than totally relying on the Metro.

Stayed here on my last trip. Lots locally and about 5-10 mins walk to Place de la Concorde

@StStephensTower thanks, I had seen that one but way out of my price range for this trip. I can never believe the price of Paris hotels, I would want the George 5 for that price 😂

A friend and I have stayed several times (last in September 2025) at Astotel 123 Les Elysées and have always been very happy with hotel (clean, comfortable, good breakfast, nice and helpful staff throughout) and location (in 8th arrondissement). They also provide free soft drinks in minibar and free soft drinks, tea, coffee, snacks and cakes downstairs (I believe between 2 pm and late at night).

We have been able to walk to many places but there are also several bus lines and at least three metro stations nearby. Prices vary quite a bit depending upon dates.

The traffic is noisy and smelly at times (particularly between 5-7 pm weekdays when there is congestion outside) but the windows are sound-proofed and inside ventilation good. We have always slept well. When we had a room on the second floor we could feel passing metro trains slightly (not enough to deter us from going back).

Enjoy your trips to Paris!

We've stayed in various Ibis Styles hotels in Paris. I think they'd be fine for you and your daughter at least.

I stayed here hotel fabric oberkampf with my daughter and it worked well. Near tubes in a nice area.

My children stayed there Astotel Palm two years ago and said it was fantastic. They were great with information, etc (as I booked it for them). You can use the lobby area/free drinks of any AstroTel who you're staying in one.

Thanks for the tips, will check them out.

This hotel is 10 mins from the Louvre, a lot of easy walking, also has a batobus stop nearby.

September is popular. I’ve found these on the left bank. Personally I prefer Le Marais. Better transport from airport! There’s not many for £200 a night and these are nearer £250. London is the same! These are for 4 nights in mid Sept starting on a Sunday via Booking.

I've stayed in the Hotel Quai du Seine and Residence Internationale de
Paris.

I'm a cheapskate so these may be too Budget for you but both were comfortable and clean and prices meant I could afford the breakfast!

Also at the Est Hotel but recent reviews say a change of management has resulted in bad changes.

There are several Ibis hotels in Paris which would be OK, and even Mercure or Novotels, which might be affordable, depending on your dates.

For a tip - join the Accor ALL loyalty scheme (it doesn't cost anything), and you get ~ 10% off (and cheaper if you book on the app).

We stayed at Hotel Gramont near the Louvre. It was quiet at night in the hotel which was a must for me. We did a lot of walking and the Toot Toot bus - no metro at all.
It’s not luxurious but it was quaint and clean and quiet.

If you want an aparthotel with (basic) cooking facilities you could look at Citadenes. We stayed at their St Germaine site which is a great location but they have several others in Paris. (We’ve also used them in London and Amsterdam).

MaybeNotBob · Yesterday 21:00

I think the Citadines are likely to be over budget, but I agree that they're good.

We’ve stayed here a few times and it’s lovely. Easily walkable to places as well. Hotel Adele et Jules
