Flying out from here 6.30am. I have never flown out of this airport before, know all the ins and outs of all the other major airports but no clue about best parking, etc any advice?

Oh gosh, really? I wonder what’s gone wrong now!

I’ve just checked with the AI assistant on the airport website and they are advising the 2 litres rule still .

Perhaps it’s worth checking with them at the time you fly OP.

We frequently fly from BHX. With the ‘new’ rules around 100ml etc., I actually take 8 sealed bottles of 500ml water in my hand luggage and no one bats an eyelid.

Security can be a bit of a faff depending what time you go through, and apart from one time when they’d just moved security and it was either 1 of 3 lifts or stairs to the side to get there along with teething problems technology wise, it’s a breeze!

The worst part out of all of it is navigating your way through the carefully constructed duty free area post Security and trying to get around all the dawdlers!

Car Park 1, which we always use, is normally around £5 or £10 more than the others, yet the convenience more than makes up for it.

So did I, and there are no restrictions in place whatsoever.

It's also as clear as day on their website.

We stay in the travelodge at the airport when we are flying that early and do the twilight drop off for luggage with Jet2. I believe 1 person can check in up to 6 people’s bags so you don’t have to drag everyone into the check in area. We park in the short stay directly opposite to do the bag drop then park in 7 for the remainder of the holiday.
The twilight bag drop is a bloody godsend

With liquid restriction keep in mind the airport rules from where you will be flying back from may be different. When went to Menorca there were endless trolleys of toiletries people were having to throw away as the 100ml restriction was in place there.

Also as soon as you see your gate number head that way. It’s much quieter and there are a few places to get a coffee/food round that bit.

Fast passes are £7pp and brilliant if you have children. To just bypass the sometimes lengthy security queues. My children do not queue patiently!

Fast lane in the summer!

I travel fairly frequently from Birmingham for work and would recommend getting Fast Track; sometimes you can sail through with no issues but I've found the majority of times the queues have been awful (particularly with all the work going on there at the moment) with some people worried about getting through in time for their flights. I would definitely get it for an early morning flight.
