Advice for inexperienced traveller

I haven't been abroad for years and desperate for a foreign holiday next year. Any advice for an easy trip for an inexperienced traveller? Even dealing with an airport is daunting. Im looking for about 4 to 5 nights and I have a tight budget. Are there any particular holiday firms for example that make holidaying a bit easier?

i have a global money card with HSBC. I put my budget spend in, convert to Euros or whatever and use it to pay for things or withdraw in the local currency.

I’m a big fan of Porto. We flew there from our local airport and at the other end we were able to jump on the metro from the airport into the city centre. It’s not huge so it’s an easy place to have a wander around - you can go port tasting, go on a river trip, do a free walking tour etc

Copenhagen? Super easy to get there, not too hot in summer, everyone speaks English, you can ride a bike around and explore, lovely shops to look at.

I love the free walking tours for a first day introduction. As a solo traveller they are even better, just tip the guide at the end.

Porto has been on my to visit list for years. Off to take a look

From the north east? It’ll cost her hundreds, take forever, involve loads of changes and she’s on a budget. Newcastle airport is also much easier to navigate than St Pancras and you still have to do the EES.

You’re right - it will take a while to get to London but once she’s there she is right in the middle of the city - no foreign transfers to do. All the travelling is in England.
