Hi really want to go to Duinrell and thinking of getting the ferry from Hull to Rotterdam (overnight ferry)and then driving to Duinrell which I believe is around 45 mins? Has anyone done this and how did they find it? Was it easy? How is Duinrell? Not been abroad for years so a little anxious about the travelling thanks 😊

Love the ferry from Hull. It was a part of many holidays from my childhood and I've taken my own children to center parks many times. We love it, very easy and relaxed way to travel. We've always booked the food which is very over priced particularly when you have children who eat some plain pasta and thats it! But I've felt it was all part of the experience. Staff were lovely cabins comfortable and quiet although cramped. I would recommend it.

We have been to Duinrell twice, taking our caravan on the Hull-Europort Rotterdam ferry both times.

It is an absolute breeze. The ferry times are great for kids re dinner/breakfast etc (unlike Harwich ferry, which leaves much later in the evening).

The drive to Duinrell is easy too. Good roads, reasonable speeds and drivers seem much like our motorway drivers. I didn’t see any pushy “London driving” drivers even in the towns/cities.

Duinrell is fab, and if you don’t want to drive while there you can walk in to Wassenar very easily. The beach is a longer walk, but you can take or hire bikes to help with that if the beach appeals.

We self catered mostly due to fussy kids and cost. Drove to Aldi on the first day (you arrive at Duinrell before 12 on arrival day due to the ferry times) and stocked up on food. All very easy.

Have fun!
