Best London areas to stay with teenagers during a summer visit

Looking for recommendations for places to stay in London this summer. Myself ,DH and three teens who are 18,16 and 14. The teens picked London, we have never visited.

Ideally thinking of an Air B&B. What areas should I be looking in?

There’s also a nice pizza express and Nando’s on Baker Street.

I would stay in the Bloomsbury/Fitzrovia/ Marylebone/Kings Cross areas.
If you don’t mind travelling a bit on the tube, then Chiswick/Hampstead.

We just booked a two bed suite (sleeps 5) in the Marriott residence inn near Earls Court tube station. Worked out the same price per night as one twin room in hotels around Covent Garden (where we normally stay).

Holiday Inn Express near to the O2 - you get an eat as much as you like breakfast (vital for hungry teens!) thrown in, walk 10 mins to the tube or Uber boat to get anywhere you like, and any number of restaurants and bars in the O2 at night. You can get 2 connecting rooms.

Vauxhall is cheaper but has excellent travel links.

Both the O2 and Vauxhall are a bit non central. O2 in particular. Vauxhall doesn’t have a huge number of restaurants. Kings X/Euston has more choice within walking distance.

I second the premier inn (or a Travelodge or Ibis nearby) at Southwark. It's a close walk to the Tate Modern which is mostly free,.with a great rooftop lookout. Also very handy for the South Bank which is pretty vibey for teens.
Also not a long walk across the river to Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden etc

The Premier Inn at Southwark Station is a good location - across the street from Southwark tube or a short walk to Waterloo; short walk to the South Bank. Easy to get a bus to Covent Garden or walk there across Waterloo Bridge/ Jubilee Bridge. It’s perhaps a bit more ‘gritty’ but never felt unsafe there; the Cut has a variety of restaurants/cafes. Easy walk to Tate Modern/Borough Market/Shard as well.

Personally I’d avoid staying in Covent Garden itself - I stayed in the Travelodge there for work a few years ago and didn’t like it - it’s a big hotel, it was noisy and I didn’t feel particularly safe in the hotel on my own. I’d look for something a bit less central. Bloomsbury/Holborn/Fitzrovia are close enough to Covent Garden to walk and I’d also also second the Premier Inn at Old Street if you want to be closer to Shoreditch/Brick Lane - it’s a good location and good transport links; a trip to Columbia Road flower market is a different way to spend a Sunday morning if you’re in the area.
