What should I expect from an adults-only holiday or cruise?

Me, 20s F and a friend, 40s F, both single, been talking about planning to go on holiday together for the first time. 2-3 of her friends in the same age group are planning to go to adult-only holiday/ cruise. And she just mentioned to me and about joining them together. Does anyone know what it is like and what to expect?

No kids!
Everything else is the same.

Food poisoning?

You may want to check that really is just no kids.

Or if it’s the other kind with pineapples on the door…

Virgin Voyages or Saga/ Fred Olsen/ P&O Arcadia? There's a big difference.

My friend mentioned about virgin voyage. Her friends are considering virgin voyage if going on cruise.
I had a look at the website and it only seems to mention about rest and relaxation, upscaling dining experience kind of stuff.

Virgin voyages has a certain aesthetic let’s says (watch the channel 4 documentary before you commit) not my cup of tea . We’ve done the adults only Marella (TUI) which was fine and not as crazy as Virgin

I see. I have never been to cruises and I just had a look and seems not for me.

I took my 75 year old mum on a Virgin Voyages cruise last year, not seen the documentary so can’t comment on that but it was fine, nothing that much different from other cruises apart from no kids (weirdly had lots that kids would have loved, though, free ice cream, pick n mix & popcorn, arcade games!).

Unfortunately I found the food and entertainment to be pretty disappointing, better than the TUI cruise but much worse than P&O.

I think some of the p and o sailings are adult only. Might suit your taste a bit more if you fancy a cruise.
