Eurocamp style holiday HELP!

Joolz1000 · 12/04/2026 21:39

Hi! We are a family of 5 ( 10 and 7 and kids). Im wanting to try a eurocamp style holiday this year but am really apprehensive. My middle child has adhd and whilst he is the one who needs lots of activities, especially physical ones, I am also nervous about how big and potentially crowded these places might be or if it’s going to be really exhausting for us parents managing him with so much around. (We’ve previously done hotels and centre parcs)

im looking for somewhere with really nice accommodation, location pretty secure sunshine in aug, pools, beach, kids activities (high ropes climbing cycling etc) within easy access. Hoping not to drive from uk so fly and maybe hire a car if needed.

ive heard of other places like sandaya, yelloh, etc. It’s so overwhelming. There are so many threads.

can anyone recommend a site they have loved, anyone been with very active energetic kids who could point me to something good?

thanks!

I loved Duinrell in the Netherlands. Didn't go with kids though.
I went in June and it was fairly busy but lots of school trips. Don't know how busy it would be in August.
If you book with the site the accommodation is usually better.
You can cycle to the beach too.

Also Beekse Bergen (also NL) - not been there but heard good things.

Sylvamar in Biarritz was amazing - great facilities and fly into Biarritz. They are all busy in summer but it’s a big park so always somewhere to escape everyone else. We always got loungers but somedays needed to get singles then drag into a group.

The nicest accommodation we’ve experienced was at Valamar Camping Istra in Croatia. You can get “villas” with their own private pools.

Try capfun.co.uk

Like eurocamp

I will say the biggest thing we used to find was timing- august or Jude was better than July which was hotter and more packed

We going to a valamar site in may holidays actually, they look amazing. Was going to use it as a trial run for this type of holiday. Will look the one you mention up thanks!

This looks brilliant thank you!

Bella Italia on Lake Grada.
Right on the lake, loads to do at the site or can walk into the town. There is a theme park nearby. Can do ferry trips round the lake or get the train to Verona or even Venice for the day. It’s a short 20-30min transfer from Verona airport & you could manage without a car

If you liked centre parcs, have you looked at European centre parcs? They tick all your boxes in terms of stuff to do, but it's also relatively quiet & not crowded. Duinrell is excellent but book direct, and go for premium if you can afford it - so much more space. If you want sunshine, del Garda village and camping is great. Eurocamp style accomodation, but a lot less busy than Bella Italia. You fly into Milan or Verona and then get the train to Peschaira del garda. Theme park in walking distance too.

Would be wary of Capfun personally - our experience was not good: they turned a previously peaceful site into something like Butlins on steroids; it was also very much aimed at the French (although our French is pretty good, no effort was made by the staff to speak any other languages. British and Dutch kids, of which there were plenty - were quite excluded).
