I know no one probably cares but ive just booked a holiday for my ds and i!
It took me a lot to leave my really toxic relationship (fellow mumsnetters reallyvgave me the strength).
Ive worked super hard to build things in my business and im finanally having my dream of taking my 9 year old away in august to the canaries.
I look a really mess, im a chubster with big saggy boobs and a bad back but i do not care. Travel company have ensured hotel fine for disabilities a and flight etc.
I know its minor to some but i just wanted to tell someone!
Im a bit nervous about cases and my back but il find a way for my ds.
Anyway not bragging just wanted to tell someone that when you leave toxic relationships things can improve after the sadness

Whether you need assistance may depend partly on the airport but if you struggle to walk about a mile (I’m not kidding) book assistance through your airline, you can state what you need eg buggy from check in to gate.

Do make sure you have permission from your dcs dad or your court order giving you permission to go abroad, they don’t always check but it does happen (I got asked).

Have the best time, don’t worry about what you look like in your swimwear, be in all the photos or as many photos with your DS as you can and have the best time! You will look back on those in years to come and this huge sense of achievement will come flooding back not to mention how precious those photos will be to him. Well done on what you have achieved you should be so so very proud 😊

Well done mamma, you are creating life long memories for your son. Glad your business is doing well enough to support you and your son and allow for a holiday this year.
I booked my first holiday abroad last year in years. It gave me the bug to start going travelling again. I'm currently in Japan with my youngest son who is 22 & I'm almost 62.
I'm sure you & your son will have an amazing time x.

Have a brilliant time! Last year we went away abroad for the first time since 2006! I was so nervous I’d get something wrong or we’d forget something, but it all went perfectly. Congratulations on escaping your ex!

Love posts like this. I'm sure you and your little boy will have the best time!
We are also off on our first family holiday this year with our baby son to Lanzarote. A bit apprehensive but looking forward to it.
Take plenty of photos and cherish the memories. I am trying to tell myself to not care what I look like in pictures, my little boy won't care, so why should I? - the same goes for you too! Enjoy yourselves xx
