Disneyland Paris is pricey - is it worth it???

We are looking to take 2 x DC (they will be 10 and 4) to Dienyland Paris next Feb half term, 2 x nights is looking around £2.5K!! More than I thought it would be!

We want to go during half term because we can’t get time off work when they’re at school.

We have never been but always wanted the experience for our kids - is it worth it?

When we go, we stay at Centre Parcs for five nights and just buy two x day tickets, as it works out significantly cheaper. We always have a great time, and staying at Centre Parcs makes it feel like a proper break

I hadn’t even thought of that, what’s the centre parcs called please? Do you fly and arrange transport yourself?

We’ve also done the Center Parcs, booked via Disney. With 2 days of tickets included it worked out about £2.5k. It’s called Village Nature.

This feels really expensive. I just took two teens for three nights / four days in the Feb break and it was about £1300 for tickets, hotel and flights

Via the Disneyland website? Did you book last minute?

No, not last minute. We booked in July last year.

I booked the tickets through Magicbreaks.com, the hotel through Hotels.com (it was Dream Magic hotel) and flights with Easyjet.

We've been to DLP a few times but only once since covid. Yes to staying at the centre parcs which is called village nature. But I would say that imo it really has gone downhill and lost a great deal.of the magic since covid. I must prefer the other disney parks or if you want to stay in Europe, maybe look at somewhere like the efteling.

G5000 · 21/03/2026 19:55

Have you considered Europapark (and Rulantica) instead? Many people consider it better than Disney.

Lostworlds · 21/03/2026 20:00

The first time I took my children I stayed in Val de Europe. It’s a really beautiful town, very close to Disneyland, with a massive shopping centre which has an aquarium, loads of restaurants, a designer outlet and a great amount of shops with a huge supermarket.
Staying off site already saved us a lot of money. We chose a self catering place and bought ourself food for the supermarket for snacks during the day and breakfast. This allowed us to eat a main meal in Disney or in Val de Europe. Our holiday place offered a free shuttle to Disneyland which was only a 5 min drive but there’s a train station which is only one stop away and loads of people do it . We even walked back to our holiday home a couple of times which was only a 15 mins walk.
with my hotel booking I could add on Disneyland tickets for the days I wanted to go.

Id really recommend looking into it as it saved us over £1000 in Feb 2025.

FriedFalafels · 22/03/2026 07:00

What are you pricing up? It sounds like you are looking at the most luxurious hotel, The Disneyland Hotel.

2 nights hotel with 3 days of passes can be as low as £1100 plus flights/ferry. Half board takes it to £1425 and turning one of those meals into character dining £1570. Character dining and £100 of fast passes are totally worth the upgrades

We loved DisneyParis, I’m not the sort of person to use 2 weeks of leave and spend the kind of money Florida takes, when I can use that for anywhere in the world. It’s worth comparing to summer prices though. We’ve been in both rain and sun, it made a difference.

bingocard · 22/03/2026 07:17

Hi Op , we went last Feb half term 5 days 4 nights cost 1500. We drove from the north of England. Stayed over night in a premier inn. And got the first train on the euro tunnel. It was included in the package we booked through Disney. We then stayed at the Davy Crockett lodges and drove it each day. It meant self catering an paying to petrol but that still didn't equate to another £1000.

And yes, it was one of the best holidays DC have had!

Walkthelakes · 22/03/2026 08:41

We are going to France for 10 days in May half-term. We are doing a Eurocamp in the South then an Air BnB in walking distance to Disney and two days tickets. We are driving and shuttle with accommodation booked on the road and are paying around 2.5k for 7 people for 10 nights accommodation, travel and Disney!

Walkthelakes · 22/03/2026 08:42

Just to add the Disney tickets are the most expensive part and come up just over 1k for 7 people.

Thedevilhasfinallycaughtupwithhim · 22/03/2026 08:45

We did a week at a near by euro camp and drove to disney. The whole week cost £1600 for five of us including ferry.

Thedevilhasfinallycaughtupwithhim · 22/03/2026 08:47

Oh!
and I used Piqnic via the TopCashback app and got a 15% discount on tickets prices plus £40 cash back!

EvelynBeatrice · 22/03/2026 08:49

We always stayed at the Dream Castle Marne Le Valle outside the park. Benefits of theming and complimentary transport but not ‘in park’ prices. Was years ago though.

We always enjoyed it.

TeamGeriatric · 22/03/2026 10:05

What exactly does that price include? I can see a park and hotel package for £999 for 3 days/2 nights from 8th to 10th Feb at Hotel Cheyenne, which is 1/2 term for us. In comparison it's £806 for just 3 days of park tickets, and you would still need to add the hotel. The following week it's £1,200 for the hotel package versus £935 for park tickets. Package is offering good value in both instances, wouldn't be any cheaper to stay off site and you'd lose your early entry benefit. I wouldn't expect flights to be that expensive, but not all airlines have released their 2027 flight schedules, so you don't necessarily have the full picture right now. Either way I wouldn't expect flight costs to be accounting for more than half the cost of your trip.

Doseofreality · 22/03/2026 10:05

I hated every second I was there but weirdo adult Disney fanatics, crying as they meet someone dressed as a Princess, creeps me out.
Add in the crowds, the smokers, the shit food and everyone being miserable because it’s cost them £££££s and it’s shit, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

Clefable · 22/03/2026 10:07

I think Efteling is a much better park, cheaper, far smaller wait times, but if your kids are really into Disney IP then they’ll enjoy Disney for sure. If they aren’t that bothered about Disney characters etc I would do Efteling. Better rides, better food and far less busy. We’ve done both and I wouldn’t go back to Disney soon but we booked to go back to Holland and Efteling before we were even home from that trip!

KnickerlessParsons · 22/03/2026 10:18

Parc Asterix and Futuroscope are both also very good.
You’ll spend a lot more than £2.5k at Disneyland unless you don’t buy any food in the park and have a heart of steel in the gift shops and refuse to buy anything.

snowymarbles · 22/03/2026 10:27

That seems quite a lot - I have just stuck Feb 27 half term dates in in the Disneyland Paris direct site and got £1200 for a family of 4 in Newport Bay for 2 nights with 3 days park tickets.(obviously then travel on top)

i took my daughter last year and would say

don't bother with a meal plan - we did one share tee lunch but otherwise grabbed fast food.

You could stay offsite on arrival day as cheaper and just go to the park early in the morning before you overnight stay so you get full park entry that day.

We booked reserved view tickets for fireworks but nothing else.

MrsKeats · 22/03/2026 10:29

No. It’s too expensive and the weather is often bad. My kids did not enjoy it.

Greenpeanutsnail · 22/03/2026 10:36

I really enjoyed it and it works well for my family. I thought some of the food was delicious. I’m hoping to go again this year. I’m not particularly a Disney fan, but it’s just a good holiday, albeit exhausting.

I’ve not been, but I’ve heard great things about Efteling.

tinyspiny · 22/03/2026 12:09

We always enjoy it and have done for numerous years . We always drive as it is so much more convenient than planes/ trains . If you are booking through Disney it usually works out cheaper / better to book travel independently and just book hotel / tickets through Disney .
