Easyjet excess baggage Manchester Airport

Hi, can anyone advise on excess baggage for easyjet? i'm probably going to have more than the 20kg they allow - seen as they dont allow an allowance for infants sitting on laps. but where do i pay for it? on their website it says that it must be paid for before checking in. Anyone done this at manchester airport before? If so can you advise where to go etc and how much earlier will i have to go.

Thanks!!

Have done it with Jet2 at Manchester and other airlines all over the place! What usually happens is that you check in and they weigh your bag. If is is over and they are going to charge you they will give you a bit of paper and send you off to their ticket desk to pay it and then you go back to your check-in person with the receipt showing you have paid and then you get your boarding card. Certainly with Jet2 it was painless really. Doesn't take long usually.

also you get 20kg checked in if you have paid for that plus 10kg hand i believe

easyjet allow only 5kg hand luggage - all of which will probably be taken up with nappies, food, milk and books for entertainment etc for DS.

20kg is usually a fairly big case.

There isn't a weight limit for the hand luggage - just the size:

I'm always tempted to fill a backpack with kitchen weights to see if they mean it

Anyway if you have any things which are small and heavy but not liquid, put those in your hand luggage.

this is why it is so confusing ryan air and bimbaby have the size and weight for hand luggae

the sixe is generous tho

my usual suitcase fits into hand luggage and is enough for me to go away with

so actually more than you think

But you are allowed strictly only one piece of cabin baggage - not a handbag or nappy bag as well. Last time we flew I noticed quite a few people had those specially designed trolley cases, which I assume are exactly the right dimensions - if you get one of those you can tuck your nappy bag or whatever inside it, then when you get on the plane put the case in the overhead thing and keep your nappy bag with you (under the seat in front)

thanks wendyweber - i'll do that - put a few more bits in my hand luggage.

also wear jeans coat etc and heaviest shoes and an extra jumper you can take them all off on the plasne

i was gna take a large nappy change bag which fits a bit in, (smaller than the size stated) but may jst invest in the trolley thing and get a bit more in there
