To pay for a bassinett seat? Turkish airlines

Hi everyone,
I’m traveling with Turkish Airlines, and I have two flights on the way there and two flights on the way back. On the outbound journey, I’m flying solo with a 3-year-old and a 10-month-old. My 3-year-old is pretty easy, he can stay entertained with an iPad and his toys —but the 10-month-old is, of course, a bit more unpredictable.
I’m debating whether I should pay for a bassinet seat (£98). I originally booked with Qatar Airways, where bassinet seats were free but ofcourse cant fly with them. With Turkish Airlines, they charge extra. One of the flights is about 5.5 hours, and I’m really torn. I’ve heard that bassinet seats might not be worth it since, during turbulence, they often make you lift the baby out as well as other random reasons and you don’t get that much use out of it. Does anyone have recent experience with Turkish bassinet seats? Would you pay for it or just take your assigned seat and manage? Any advice would be really appreciated. Also on the way back My husband will be with me so I'm not too fussed as I will have help, this is for one flight only.

The bassinets aren't huge. If he's higher centiles he may not fit, plus the obvious issue of him climbing out. I probably wouldn't bother.

We did it on our flight to Australia and It was worth it. My DD was 20 months and barely fit in - she was just shy of 10lbs at birth so big. I imagine a ten month old would easily fit. But yes it depends on the flight attendant but they did have us take the baby out during turbulence on one leg, not do much the next one. but still I’d go it again as she was in it mitre than out and it gave me a bit of freedom.

What time of day and does dc sleep well usually? Dd2 slept for 7 hours in hers on a flight home from Canada over night. It was amazing. She was 20 months old so I did have to fold her into it 😆 she was asleep in my arms and the stewardess suggested trying one (we also had dd1 age 5 and dd3 (twins with dd2) and they’d given us the spare seat for her as dh and I had to sit in separate rows (only one extra oxygen mask per row).

My baby would only sleep in my arms at that age

Absolutely. Means you can put him down when asleep and tend to your 3 year old or just take some rest for yourself. 100% do it.
