Prague, unexpected visit

I am unexpectedly travelling to Prague on Thursday, expect to spend only a day or two there and then to drive (flying there, driving home) towards Calais. This is entirely unplanned, no accommodation booked etc. There seems no shortage of hotels so I'm not concerned about finding somewhere to stay but would appreciate any tips on what to pack in to the short time I'll be there. Also any tips for the drive back, intend to use the tunnel and then head for the ferry to Ireland (home).

Beautiful city. It's quite compact so it's easy to see a lot of the sights on foot. The bridges, the castle, the old town, the Jewish quarter. I recommend the museum of decorative arts.
Wear shoes that can cope with cobble stones!
Sorry, no advice on driving back.

You can walk or get the tube (metro) there. It can be quite hilly going up to the castle. What to pack? Just your usual clothes and shoes but as pp said comfy for cobbles.

I can recommend the walking tour with this guy, very interesting and informative, plus he keeps it a small group: www.livingpraguetours.com/tour/prague-old-town-jewish-quarter-walking-tour/

A river boat ride is nice, they give an audio guide and you see lots of the city. We booked through Get Your Guide website. There's a funicular that takes you up to some lovely gardens and woodland paths on the castle side of the river, can't recall the name. There's an impressive statue display to anti communism at the foot of the hill too. Eat a chimney cake with strawberries in it. 😋
