Jet2 Insurance

Hi,

I booked my first ever all inclusive with Jet2.

The destination we are going to is one where we’ll be taking part in a perceived extreme sport in the eyes of an insurer.

We are doing this sport independently, and is the reason for our holiday. It’s not organised in any way by Jet2.

Therefore, I haven’t taken out Jet2’s insurance, as I will be using a different company that specialises in extreme sports cover abroad.

I am a little worried now though as I’ve just read on Jet2 that I need to take out their insurance at time of booking. I booked 2 weeks ago. The trip isn’t until August. I was going to wait until then and buy annual insurance cover a day or 2 before the holiday.

have i broken jet2s T&Cs?

Not sure about jet2s t&c’s but Martin Lewis is always raving that you need to get insurance as soon as you book.

I interpret that as if you want it, you do at the time of booking.

You should take out travel insurance as soon as you book a holiday - regardless of who with.

If you want your insurance to cover cancellation etc you need it in place asap, no matter who with. You aren't obliged to take out Jet2 insurance, so not sure why it would break Ts&Cs.

Travel agent here! Travel insurance is a condition of allowing you in the holiday, it doesn’t have to be Jet2’s

HOWEVER! Please take out the insurance now, it is not just for whe you are ON holiday but it is also for anything that might happen BEFORE you go on holiday….case in point-customer books holiday, due to travel in 11 month time, kids falls, breaks arm, needs surgery which all happens 2 weeks before travel. Told they can’t fly-insurance covers the cost of cancellation

Thanks all. I’ll sort it out now 👍

I always get insurance if mine has run out when I pay the balance if I have only paid a small deposit and then take out a yearly one
