To be fair I’m not sure Disneyland Paris is trying to meet ‘trip of a lifetime’ status that perhaps Disney World is going for.

For sure, and that's exactly what I was trying to say: its not worth anyone's life savings, but good fun if you don't expect it to be the trip of a lifetime.

I'd say Disneyland Paris can be a fantastic experience, especially if you plan it right. For managing time better, I used the enchantedinsider.com Lightning Lane Calculator to check if buying the Multi Pass was worth it for our group. It was really useful to help us avoid long waits on crowded days, saving us hours, which meant more fun and less stress.

Theme parks are not really my thing, but we went to Disneyland Paris when DD was 5 and had a really lovely time. I think she was just the right age for it and it was great to see how exciting she found it.

We stayed in the Disneyland Hotel inside the park so that was rather nice and we did a character breakfast which DD was thrilled by.

I think we all enjoyed the rides we did, however I can't imagine going as an adult without a child.

It’s very much what you make it, and the context. It’s tiring if you don’t pace yourself and try to cram everything into just a couple of days. It’s tiring if you go with very young children and don’t factor in rest time. It’s tiring if you go during peak crowds in the sweltering heat. But if you plan well, it needn’t be tiring at all.
Also, manage your expectations. Don’t expect amazing food or ‘Disney magic’. It’s a Disney theme park, no more, no less. If you don’t put pressure in yourself to have a once-in-a-lifetime, dreams-are-made kind of holiday, then you could have an amazing time.
