Paris hotel with parking

We're driving to the Dordogne this Summer and we want to stop in Paris for one night with our three children aged 14, 12 and 9 on the way there. My two older children are autistic and the 12 year old in particular finds travelling quite hard, although he's very keen to go to Paris because he loves a TV show set there. Can anyone recommend a particular hotel that would have parking included, wouldn't be too difficult to drive to, but also wouldn't be too far to get from to the Eiffel Tower? We won't be doing much other sight seeing as DC12 won't cope with much in one day, but he really wants to see the Eiffel Tower so that's the main destination and then anything that's walkable from there.
I've found a few hotels online that are near the Eiffel Tower, but are we being stupid to think that we'll be able to drive and park nearby?
I think a short train ride into the centre but an easy arrival/parking would be preferable to being walking distance from the Eiffel Tower but getting massively stressed driving there/not being able to park near the hotel. Any thoughts from people who know Paris well?

  1. about:blank Les Jardins d’Eiffel – 3★ charming hotel just a short walk to the Eiffel Tower with private underground parking available for guests (rare in central Paris; usually around €25/24 h).
  1. about:blank Hôtel Mercure Paris Centre Tour Eiffel – mid-range hotel near the tower. Many travellers report convenient on-site parking available (you can park directly at the hotel or pre-book spaces).
  1. about:blank Hôtel France Eiffel – budget-friendly choice ~15–20 min walk from the Eiffel Tower with its own car park (priced by day).
  1. about:blank Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel – higher-end option right by the Eiffel Tower. This hotel doesn’t always list dedicated parking online, but there are several secure public car parks immediately nearby you can reserve before arrival

As to how difficult they are to drive to, you would need to look at Google maps. I think anything in central Paris would be a major pain to drive to.

Thanks, I did ask Chatgpt myself and got the results you got, but they didn't give me the information I wanted which was why I posted on here for real people's advice rather than AI. I was hoping for a recommendation from someone who knows Paris or who has stayed somewhere that fits my requirements. I can look at Google Maps all I like but it doesn't tell me how easy it is to drive and park somewhere.

I would not drive into Paris. We’ve done a similar trip with autistic children staying in Versailles which is lovely and very quick into central Paris. You also don’t need a crit air certificate which is helpful. It means we can have a say in Paris, a day in Versailles and then finish our journey.

@modernfairies thanks that's really helpful. I'll have a look around Versailles.

The Eiffel Tower side is not very nice, plus I really wouldn’t drive in Paris. You’d need a CritAir sticker, for one.

I’d stay outside Paris, in the western suburbs, near an RER station and take the train. Saint-Germain-en-Laye is a lovely, safe, chateau town with cobbled pedestrian streets, a lovely chateau garden, and is about 25 mins to the Arc de Triomphe. You can then take line 6, which gives you a beautiful trip over the Seine and a fab view of the Eiffel Tower as you cross the river ( views on left side) and you get off at Bir Hakeim.

A bit closer, Rueil Malmaison is nice (the Malmaison is Empress Josephine’s house and worth a visit), or Chatou or Le Vesinet are nice towns and super quick into Paris (Chatou-Etoile is 17 mins on RER).

After visiting Eiffel Tower, either take a bateau mouche trip down from the quay below, or cross back over the bridge to Trocadero for great views and photo ops. As I said before, the area around Bir Hakeim is not very nice. Paris is a small city, and the metro stops are all around. Don’t forget to prebook your trip up the tower in advance, or your son will be very disappointed.

@Oriunda thanks for this, really useful!

We stayed at Hotel B and B in Torcy (near to Disneyland)when we went to the Olympics- pretty basic, but lots of free parking and walking distance to the train into the centre of Paris.

OhDear111 · 11/02/2026 22:05

I’d stay in any pretty town with around a 30 minute commute! Driving in Paris? No thanks.

We stayed in Paris last summer to break up the drive further south. We had 1 day in Paris. 1 day in Versailles.
Stayed at the Novotel Chateau de Versailles Both nights. Car parking underneath hotel and easy to drive to...past some lovely fancy houses. Breakfast at hotel included. We could also walk to Versailles from there. Some good eating options nearby.
Taxi to central Paris was £30. We just got the uber there and back as not much difference than 4 of us getting the train in (and hotel was 20mins walk from train station).

Was also going to ask if you've driven in central Paris before. I generally love driving in Europe but driving in Paris scared the life out of me - and at the time I was used to driving in central London so not a city thing.

The metro in and around Paris is really good. I would try and find a hotel near a Metro on the right line and use that to get into the center.

Hotel des Grandes Ecoles, in the 5eme arr. Has an underground parking, a cute garden and not too expensive, i stayed there last year and loved it

reallyrightnow · 12/02/2026 04:08

I'll also agree on the not driving in Paris and I drive regularly in London!

samlovesdilys · 12/02/2026 07:00

We stayed at the Hotel Rosalie, it has a SMALL car park underneath we used, metro close by and direct to Eiffel Tower. Restaurants etc close by and driving was straight forward.
after Eiffel Tower we booked a boat hop-on-hop-off and travelled down the Seine on that.

VerityUnreasonble · 12/02/2026 22:05

Can't say much about hotels with parking, but, if you have access cards for DC the Eiffel Tower will let you queue skip (and I think you can get cheaper tickets?)
