Can you pack hair straighteners in a cabin bag?

Hi. Just that really.

Planning a trip -with TUI to Mexico if that’s relevant - and only taking a cabin bag. Can you take straighteners in it? I presume a laptop is fine?

Any advice? Would cost £100 more to put the bag in hold

Have you looked at their website? https://www.tui.co.uk/destinations/info/luggage-guidelines

You can take straighteners.

yes you can, depending on airport you might have to take them out of your bag at security

Yeah

Yep. I’ve never had any problems on any airline taking hair straighteners in hand luggage.

Yes they’re fine. I’m more impressed you can take only a cabin bag for a trip to Mexico!

Yes

Yes

Thank you all. No idea why but for some reason I thought they had to go in hold luggage

Do you mean straightforward plug in ones? I know years and years ago I used to have those hair styling tools with a little gas bottle, which did have specific rules around them, but AFAIK there aren’t any rules around something that just plugs in. Issue with laptops etc is the battery, so I guess if they had a battery there would be rules, but that would mean had luggage anyway.

Yes, especially with straighteners and a laptop!

That said, packing is easier if you're travelling somewhere warm in winter. You'll be wearing most of your clothes when you leave!
