Trip with teen post GCSEs/pre-prom: beauty and spa treatments all inclusive food? Only 3-4 nights

I am trying to find a nice trip with my DD post her exams this summer. Only catch is that she is in serious sports training so my vision of a couple of weeks backpacking and bonding around Asia is now down to three or four nights. She would really love to try an all inclusive. Also keen on having hair olaplexed, sports massages and maybe nails or fake tan. We’d both love a pool/gym. She’d like to be able to walk into a town to shop for clothes/vintage stuff for sixth form. I love sun but she is neutral (hence need for fake tan).
Any suggestions please? Budget can be flexible and I’ve already been a bit surprised by how spenny these places are. But happy to splurge a bit. All bargains also welcome! thank you!

We did a 5 night break in Gran Canaria in between exams and prom. Saved the need for fake tan. There will be plenty of good deals if you’re willing to leave it until the last minute. What about a Spanish city break if she’s into a bit of culture (unlike mine)? I’m sure some hotels will have spas. I didn’t tell my daughter until I picked her up after her last exam…which gave her just 10 hours to pack. She was so excited, best surprise I’ve ever pulled off.

What is your budget?

Budget probably £1.5k ish? Very happy if it costs less but suspect it won’t. And could prob bump it up a bit if need be. We won’t have much time for family trip this summer: cheapo flights from Birmingham ideally.

She won’t tan- her colouring is entirely down to my husband’s Scottish ancestry.

For two people AI in summer holidays with flights… that’s doable but wouldn’t include treatments

Tui , Jet2 and EasyJet holidays all do any length package holidays now so just do a search for anywhere 4 / 5 star all inclusive and 4 nights from your local airport and see what you fancy. We did a short break to Menorca straight after GCSEs a couple of years ago it was fab as we don’t nor do package type holidays

Fasterthan40 · 26/01/2026 19:34

No assume treatments would be extra. But wondering if cheaper to have treatments in some countries than others. I’ll try a search, we also don’t ever do package holidays so am a bit tentative on how to pick a good place.

What do you usually do for holidays?

Elizabeta · 26/01/2026 19:53

Budapest for amazing spas with pools and massages - I’m not sure about the ‘beauty’ side of them, I think they might be more about ‘serious wellness’ but they are amazing.

Decent shopping and food, and you might be able to sneak in a bit of culture.

I went a few ago so can’t give you an exact budget, but it was surprisingly cheap!

Fasterthan40 · 26/01/2026 19:56

Varies but usually multi centre, separate flights. Maybe overnight train. Did club La Santa for Xmas which was v good post mocks. But summer we did pacific north west and stayed in seven or so places and did Seattle tourism plus small towns plus nature stuff. Or Swiss and French alps summer before or Asia multi country trip Xmas before. We drive awful cars but love a good holiday so that’s our spending priority.

I do love Budapest and actually she might like the outdoor bars and revisiting Schezenyi. Plus all the flea markets. Could maybe even stretch to fancy spa hotel. Just think she has this idea about going to all inclusive. And as you say suspect more medical than pampering spa stuff. Good idea though. I will suggest. Thank you

Thank you, that’s really helpful food for thought.

I am regretting not already booking something but think I will go via Hays Travel as there seems to be different types of AI and I want to get it right. Portugal looking like a good option. Hoping to avoid too many people tanking through the all inclusive alcohol.

If you fancy a spa break what about Koh Samui? I did that but island hopped afterwards.

This or Bali was my original plan but her sports stuff means we have 3 or 4 nights only. Saving that until post a levels or gap year meet up I think
