Vietnam cruises

We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 teenagers. We are going to Vietnam in July and I'm trying to sort out out itinerary- it will involve flying into Hanoi, staying in the central part of the country as we like the weather.

I'm trying to work out if the Ha long (or adjacent bays!) cruises would be good for our family. I can't find information about if the cabins suit a family of 5. We can split into a 2 and a 3. Can anyone advise on how the cruises worked for their family? And also price?

Halong Bay cruises are good. We did it with our 4 teenage children but that worked well with 2 per cabin. Can’t advise on 3 in a cabin.
If it helps, we also got the overnight sleeper train to Danong for Hoi An, which we loved. We got another sleeper to Ho Chi Minh and Phnom Penh for the Cu Chi tunnels, killing fields, and went onto Siem Reap for Angkor Wat. We had 5 weeks in total, flying in and out of Bangkok, overnight sleeper to Chiang Mai, flight to Hanoi and the above itinerary, then chilled out on Koh Samui and Kho Phangan at the end. It was a good trip and the teenagers loved it. Plenty to do and see and pretty easy, once we’d figured out how to cross the road in Hanoi!

Halong bay, Lan Ha bay or Bai Tu Long bay (2 nights) but you should also check the weather at that time of the year.

Thanks @NotVWoolf our trip will be shorter so obviously will have fewer stops than yours. I'm humming and haaing about an overnight sleeper and which one so that's good to see you enjoyed yours! Do you remember what price your cruise was? We are thinking Hanoi, Ha long, Da nang, Hoi an. But then that seems quite touristy. Sapa and the North will have to be a different trip, and we think ho chi Mihn too..
