Where would you go?

We've got the chance to do four nights mid Feb NO KIDS, where would you go?

Would love to get at least a little bit more warmth in my bones, so nowhere with UK equivalent weather ideally. Like wandering, architecture, coffee, galleries, so city breaks fine, nowhwere with "nightlife" ideally, beach also fine if there's a town to mooch around.

All ideas welcome, I'm paralysed with indecision and the sudden option of an adults only break, it's been a while!

Marrakesh?

Myoldbear · 17/01/2026 14:49

I put your specifications into AI and it came up with Valletta Malta among others.

Valletta seems good as temperatures look mild, there's enough history for four nights, it's not too far to go for the short break, and there's beaches and shopping in easy reach too.

Myoldbear · 17/01/2026 14:53

Oh it seems Valletta carnival is 13th to 17 th Feb too, if you would be there then.

DemonsandMosquitoes · 17/01/2026 16:13

Seville.

DahliaSmith · 17/01/2026 16:53

Thankyou, I'll look into those, any and all suggestions while there welcome

Athens

samlovesdilys · 17/01/2026 17:59

Nice, cheap flights and hotels, city centre and can train along coast to Monaco, menton etc

Bjorkdidit · 17/01/2026 18:28

Malaga would also be good.

CoddledAsAMommet · 17/01/2026 18:29

Athens fits the bill I'd say

MadamCholetsbonnet · 17/01/2026 18:32

Seville
Valencia
Valetta

MinestroneMacaroni · 17/01/2026 18:34

Malaga. City and beach, should be warm and the airport is one train stop from the city centre.

aibutohavethisusername · 17/01/2026 23:15

Morocco

ChatterMonkey · 17/01/2026 23:18

Slightly less city, amd a bit more beach but enough history etc for 4 days - what about Mogan in Gran Canaria.

The weather and the beaches will be nice, and the town itself is beautiful

MinnieMountain · 18/01/2026 05:36

Definitely Malaga.

Or Rome.

MissAmbrosia · 18/01/2026 12:04

Seville, Malaga or Athens. We went to Malaga end of Feb last year and it was glorious. Old town in lovely. Dd went to Athens end of Jan and had a lovely long weekend. I went in Feb but for work, and weather was also good. Seville is best visited in the winter months I think.

Lanzarote - if you like architecture you should enjoy all the fantastic Cesar Manrique buildings and sites. Hire a car - it is a small island easy to drive around, visit the Mirador, his house in the North, the Foundaion.

Timanfaya, the volcano park is fascinating and impressive.

Wander along the wilder Papgayo beaches, eat along the promenade or around the marina in Playa Blanca. I would stay in Playa Blanca.

I too was going to say Malaga.

Beach, picasso museum, castle, Atarazanas fresh food market, easy town to walk around and great food. An interesting/easy day trip via train is to Rhonda to see their famous bridge.

I did just about all this in November and it was fabulous but I think 4 nights is a little short, I felt I wanted at least another night.

I didn't hire a car though I just used the normal buses and went on a coach tour for all the Cesar Manrique attractions.

Seville.

I was going to suggest Seville, optionally with a day trip to Cordoba.

DahliaSmith · 20/01/2026 09:33

Thanks all, lots to consider. We're a bit limited on flights/dates as they're very specific and we can only get (warmish) flights to and from Marrakech, Lanzarote/Fuerta/Tenerife, or Malta on the dates we've got so pleased to see those mentioned.

Ideally I want somewhere I won't need a ruddy anorak in February! I need to warm my bones. Thanks!

Oh, you've nearly decided!
I hope you have a lovely time wherever you go, and a bit of sun!

Another vote for Seville (in case anything changes!) we did the same in early March last year and it was amazing! It did rain a bit, but we had a couple of glorious days of warm temps - just what we needed!
A bit disappointed the kids won’t ever be away on the same school trip (in school time!) again!
