Puerto Mogan - Gran Canaria. We had gorgeous weather in March. Lovely resort. Trying Melonares this year in March.
We’ve done Lanzarote (Playa Blanca) and Fuerteventura (Costa Calma) in Feb, nice resorts again, but weather not as good and windier.
Costa Adeje in Tenerife was lovely in Feb.

I second puerto Morgan . It’s a gorgeous place, very pretty and a bit of a micro climate so it’s warmer than the rest of Gran Canaria. It has loads of lovely restaurants and a market on a Friday.

How many are going and what ages are they?

I'm off to Fuerteventura early March. I'm not planning any sight seeing.

I've also been to Lanzarote, Tenerife and Gran Canaria which, I think, would offer what you're after.

My personal opinion would be La Gomera tbh, it's smaller and you can visit the other islands as well during your stay. Maybe I'm also a bit biased bc it's also my personal favorite haha. Are you concerned about the weather? I have never been in March but should be very fine. Here are some guides that might help you chose (we've used them during our vacations there from lonelyplanet and ferryhopper)

Is this a one off trip OP?
Otherwise I’d suggest Tenerife to start. The volcano in the centre ( Mt Teide ) is a full day sight seeing, cable car to the ( almost ) top , a circular walk ( just over an hour ) at Mirador de La Ruleta, Los Gigantes, Siam Park water park.
Hotels to suit any budget, restaurants a plenty.

@Orquid9 I went up to Mount Teidi in tenerife when temperature was in high 20C sea level. It was 5C up there. Quite unpleasant. That was November time. Apart from that it was stunning weather.

Last march I went to fuerteventura. It was flooding and raining when we got there. I mean wheelie bins floating in the town centre flooding. After a day it was low 20C not too bad. Very chilly in the evenings though. The day of our departure was grim with wind and rain.

Was in gran canaria once in 80+C and our accommodation was on a very steep bay inlet. 72 steps up to our apartment from the beach 😳😄

I suppose it's a chance you have to take.

I'm thinking of going on a break too atm yikes.
Good luck.
F.

Puerto Mogan in Gran Canaria is lovely but avoid the market and although the North of the island is cooler do explore.

We did Lanzarote in March it was windy so 20 degrees felt cold 🥶

TheFairyCaravan · 14/01/2026 21:15

We did La Palma in March. Most of the time it was boiling hot but we had a couple of chillier days and showers at night.

PurpleLass1234 · 14/01/2026 21:32

We had to wear jackets the last time we went to Lanzarote in March, the hotel was giving out duvets as everyone was cold at nights. The wind was really strong. The only holiday we’ve ever been on where the kids didn’t even get in the pool!

@Monty27

Can you let us know when and where your next holiday is so we can all avoid the place. 😎

We went to Corralejo. Fuertevenura, in March last year. We arrived on the 22nd, which was the last day of the carnival, which was absolutely manic. I don't know how long it goes on for but it was a lot of fun. We found the resort really good, not the prettiest but loads of different vibes. It is a working port, a Spanish business area, areas with a surfer vibe, a street with 'proper' shops at one end and more touristy shops at the other. The entertainment in the bars at night was excellent. The weather was very windy the first couple of days then settled down nicely. Sightseeing? No big cities on the island. We hired a car for a day and drove down the island. We found it very dry and bleak. A lovely small fishing village, El Cortillo. We found a fascinating vineyard to visit, but in March the vines were all pruned ready to start the new season, but the wine was good to taste.
Lanzarote. Again windy, but the trip to the volcanic park is unforgettable, Arricife is worth a day trip, and the island is dotted with artwork and buildings designed by Cezar Manrique who was responsible for the policy of keeping buildings restricted in height.
Tenerife. The southern coastal strip has everything you need. Hotels, apartments, beaches, night life, golf, waterparks. Interesting trip up Teide. Unless you are a teenager, avoid the area around Veronicas strip in Playa de la Americas. The northern half of the island is more traditional, but the westher tends to be cloudier and slightly cooler due to the prevailing winds causing clouds to form round Teide. We like all of the islands we have been to, the British bars can be a bit ott, but it is easy enough to get somewhere more traditional if you want. There are loads of videos on YouTube of all the main resorts to give you an idea of what to expect.
