Just that, really. We’d rather not spend shedloads of cash on it so are most likely looking at staying outside of the park. But we also want to make the most of the experience.
Any help / advice gratefully appreciated!

When we went, we bought tickets at the gate.

It's out of this world. I'd love to go again.

For a UK based smaller scale experience consider Kynren near Bishop Auckland.

We stayed for 3 nights (2 full days in the park) in one of the static caravans at Camping Au Bois de Ce. It wasn’t the usual standard we look for in a campsite, but it was clean and the dc loved the indoor pool.

We stayed 40 minutes away at a place we know which worked out fine, one day was plenty but we arrived at opening time and stayed until closing

If you are going at a peak time like summer holidays then get the Pass Emotion, at least for one day. It makes it possible to see far more and queue far less. Also you get great seats.

We went for two days/one night and saw about 60-70% on our first day with the Pass Emotion and the rest (plus repeated a few favourites) on day 2 with no pass. We stayed in the park, just one night.

You need the app, check the show schedule the night before and work out a rough plan for what to see when - look at a map when doing this so you aren’t going back and forth across the park too much. Although you can cross it fairly quickly if necessary, it’s not too huge.

Oh yes there is also a son et lumiere show in the evenings - a big one Fri/Sat which tends to get sold out as you can buy tickets separately, or a smaller one on other days which is included.

The Pass Emoticon isn’t available on our dates (I assume it’s sold out?). Is it going to make it really hard to see all we’d like to? I wouldn’t consider going to a UK theme park in summer without a fast pass. Is this the equivalent?!

Did you go in peak season and did you have the Pass Emoticon?

Is this the UK one run by the same people?
We’re going to be in the right area of France in summer so Puy du Fou is convenient. I’d love to go to the UK version at some point, though.

Defo need two days or the fast track pass for one day however due to show timings etc it’s really hard to see everything we did one day but wish we had done two! We stayed at Yelloh! Site called Le pin parasol really good site then we just drove in the morning wasn’t a far drive at all x x x

Yes it’s similar to a Fast Pass. Basically it means you can turn up 10 min before a show and there’s a reserved seating area for you (best seats) whereas without the pass you would need to queue for at least 30 min to be sure to get a seat, at least in peak times - and you’re queuing in the rain, hot sun, whatever the weather is.

They do release more Pass Emotions periodically so if you haven’t bought tickets yet then I would hold off and keep checking. The actual entrance tickets never sell out (I was told by their staff) so no risk in waiting.

Would I still go without the pass - Yes but you won’t see quite as much and be prepared for queues - books/games, snacks, handheld fan or whatever is needed. The queues aren’t as awful as some theme parks can be. The issue is more the timing, the shows are staggered but some overlap so it’s not logistically possible to see all in one day, but the pass really helps as you can turn up 10 min ahead.

There is a UK Puy du Fou in the works but they haven’t even got planning permission or funding yet (I think) so going to be a few years away!

There is a Puy du Fou in Spain near Madrid in case that’s relevant to anyone reading
