Where did you go in the UK thatb truly felt like a great holiday experience? I'm looking for somewhere that it's not just a luxury hotel, but the whole town/ area feels worthwhile to explore for a week.

Ideally something that combines quality accommodation and a lovely town/ nature to enjoy.

Cary Arms Hotel and Spa in Babbacombe, which is a quieter, more scenic part of Torquay. There’s lots to do without getting in the car, and a lovely sandy beach just along the road.

Love North Wales, there is so much to see and do, you can opt for coast or country quite easily or see both.

yes - and for the ‘lovely town’ there’s Conwy, which is a bit of a gem. If you’re not already a member of English Heritage or Cadw, join the latter, it’s half the price of EH and there’s loads of castles etc in the area, we saved money on one trip and then get half price on English places for a year, then if we renew Cadw they’re all free.

I love New Quay in mid-Wales, lovely beach, beautiful sunsets and some really good food options.

I really like Plymouth and Christchurch.

Also the coast of Dumfries and Galloway - there are nature reserves with huge flocks of barnacle geese in winter, and Kirkcudbright is charming.

Hexham in Northumberland. Stay at the Beaumont Hotel, shop in the local independent shops, eat at Bouchon, walk Hadrian’s Wall, visit one of the many, many castles that are close by (there are 70 in Northumberland!) visit Blanchland and the Lord Crew Arms, Vindolanda, Alnwick Castle, Lindesfarne, Bamburgh, Corbridge etc etc etc. Absolutely amazing place.

The lake district is breathtaking. We went a couple of summers ago and fell in love. We stayed near Keswick which is a charming little town too.

Aberfeldy. Aviemore/Cairngorm Mountain/Loch Morlich and surrounds.

Forest Holidays at Delamere Forest. Train not far for Liverpool/Manchester. Area around Chester/Cheshire amazing.
