Holiday insurance

We are going on a holiday! So we need travel insurance.

its will be couple of months travelling in South America. We both have some medical conditions

when I try to look at insurance sites they seem to need thousands of bits of information before you even start , so can anyone recommend a travel insurance company that is likely to be semi decent and not stupidly expensive ( or ones to avoid )

thank you

We use staysure as it covers different medical conditions and have good reviews.
You want to ensure you have good cover with decent claims dealings or don’t bother buying it as you want it to pay out when you need it.

I work in Insurance and get a really cheap deal through work but I still bought Staysure separate from my job as I wasn’t too keen on the cover with our in-house one. Never had to claim on travel insurance. Yet.

If you have existing medical conditions and have an unrelated issue, you really do not want them to refuse to pay because you skimped on paying the correct premium or declaring them.

Just to add, I buy annual cover as it is just easier and covers some elements of U.K. trips.

If you are away for a few months an off the shelf standard policy is unlikely to be suitable, most have a maximum trip length.

I too have heard good things about Staysure.

LV are also good

I use GoCompare, am completely honest about my medical history and always get a decent deal.

I have no intention of not being honest because if you ended up needing the insurance it would be pretty awful to find out you have invalidated it - no point at all getting it by lying

I know the theory - it’s just I can’t think when we last needed holiday insurance - 2008? !
