Going in a couple of weeks so Christmas markets will be open, but where else should we visit? I know Tivoli gardens is a must.

My other recommendations would be the National Museum, possibly the Design Museum if that's your thing, and a boat/canal tour from Nyhavn.

If you have kids aged about 6-12 then the science museum is fabulous

The Cisterns is cool, but only open on Thursdays in December, I think.

We went on a day trip to Sweden over the bridge, and to the zoo. Beautiful city, we hope to go back

Look into buying the Copenhagen card, 3 days is excellent value if you include Tivoli gardens etc. Obvs do the research first, but it includes loads of options!

Hotel d'anglettere to see the lights.

Good post - we are also going in a couple of weeks for 3 days and I need ideas 😂

Hotel d'anglettere to see the lights.

Had a rethink - this isn't necessary if you're seeing the lights at Tivoli.

Both Royal Palaces. The Queen’s tapestry is amazing. Glyptotek museum and Design museum. Canal trip. Meat packing district for dinner. David Collection is very good if you like art.

The Experimentarium? This really is excellent (bit of a schlep out of central Copenhagen but worth it). Perfect for primary aged kids and our early secondary also loved it.

I second the recommendation of a Copenhagen Card - I normally don’t bother with these kind of inclusive cards but I thought the CC card easily paid for itself without us feeling that we had to pack stuff in.

I second Tivoli, the Round Tower and a boat trip. It's a beautiful city. If you have kids and and an hour free, the slide at the Design Architectural Centre is a lot of fun! Nice cafe with rooftop views as well

Do you like street food type places? Try Reffen or Broens street food. Both have a nice vibe, especially if you have a sunny afternoon and wrap up.

Also had some amazing Ramen in Copenhagen at Slurp.

Botanic gardens are a nice wee breather, if you just wanted to relax between sights.

We also took a 30 minute train out to Malmo in Sweden. The views over the bridge were lovely. Didn't spend too long in Malmo but it was a nice added extra.

Lastly, Danish bakeries are great. Don't bother with hotel breakfasts.

@DeedlessIndeed our hotel breakfast (included) was as good as a bakery! Lovely space and busy! Breakfast was popular for good reason.
