First time snowboarding in Norway what fleece

In February we are going to Norway snowboarding and have been advised we will need a fleece as one on the layers. Which one do I need? Will one from Mountain warehouse be ok, or does it need to be a more expensive one? It's a minefield of information.

Mountain warehouse will be fine.

Fleece is fleece.

I’d make sure you have wool thermals however!!

Hey there! I live here in the norwegian mountains literally at the bottom of the lifts so we can snowboard every weekend.

Where are you going? There's a big difference in temperatures depending on where you are.

Any decent weight fleece will help. Also full thermals. It is MUCH colder than the Alps.

Hey we are going to Beitostolen in February. We have thermals and everything else just need fleeces. We were going to take/wear thermals, t shirt, fleece, ski jacket with the thinking we could remove the t shirt if it got too warm

Those fleeces are absolutely fine. I called in Mountain Warehouse in august when i visited my mum in UK, they have good stuff!

A few little tips, the wind here can be biting. A buff is a good thing to have, keeps the wind out. Where we live, the lifts stay open until around -20 ish. We all have different boots, Burton, Vans, Ride, but find that feet and hands get cold. A thin merino sock, then a thicker wool sock is perfect. The ski socks you can use in the Alps etc just don't cut it at all. I have some that I used in Flaine in February and I can't use them here.
Same for hands, mittens work best with a underlayer glove.

Thank you for the sock info..we have ski socks but I will get some thin merino to go under. We have silk gloves to go under the mittens.

And Beitostolen is beautiful! Make sure you try a waffel with brunost and another waffel with jam and rømme!

I hope you have a great time!

Go to the shop with your ski jacket, and try various options on and see what sensibly feels comfortable underneath it and like is adding extra warmth.

fleece comes in a range from waterproof thick and chunky through to pretty much see through. You want a comfortable layering option that works under your jacket. Mountain warehouse have them, but it’s hard to work out from pictures.
