Sani, Ikos or other for tweens?

Keen on trying Ikos or Sani as heard so many great things about ticking both the kids and adult box, but are they more geared to younger kids. I'm put off specifically by the 4-12 grouping of kids. My 10 year old would love to be in the teens section with all the active games and xboxes but wouldn't step into a traditional kids club vibe place with craft and play area! That said, the football academies look awesome and think that all day would suit them both down to the ground. Alternatively, somewhere with a proper water park, or one close by we could visit would keep them happy. Guess what I'm saying is I'm searching for family hotels but most that come up are mainly geared towards toddlers and younger primary rather than tweens. Hit me up with your epic suggestions for sports, activity and gaming mad boys!

Look at the Valamar hotels in Croatia - they have varying teen lounges with gaming. No football though.

Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife also caters for teens with things like DJ lessons.

Moppet at the Concorde in Cyprus has a group for 9-12s https://www.concordehotels.com.tr/en-us/hotels/concorde-luxury-resort/sports-leisure/moppet-kids-club The hotel also has a waterpark onsite.

Following with interest as we are in the same position.

My dc loved the big camp sites at that age, lots of sports especially water sports, they found hotels with clubs a bit a bit babyish. They also enjoyed sightseeing

Ikos is epic, but SO expensive and imo not great for older children.

The trouble is, there is nowhere else that offers the same level of service/luxury - once you go you're spoilt for life.

There's a lot of talk on the Ikos FB groups about alternatives, and apparently the Cullinen Belek in Turkey is comparable (but still not as good service wise). It has a water park and arcade rooms though which look amazing. We're probably going to try that at some point, but i worry that anywhere that isn't Ikos will be a let down.

I am also in this position, we were spoilt with Ikos last year and going again next year when our eldest will be nearly 14 but I think that might be the last time due to lack of things to do for teens. I don't think you can beat Ikos for adults though! There is probably just about enough to do if you take the car out for a day, do some of the watersports etc but its certainly nothing high adrenaline.

I have looked at so many hotels in Turkey to try and find something that will suit everyone but nothing has fully ticked the boxes so far! Even the insanely expensive ones don't seem to offer fully AI in the way Ikos does. I don't much fancy the desperate scramble to book a restaurant at 10am on the dot each day either.

Have a look at Scott Dunn, they have kids clubs specifically for different ages and my DD used to love them. Different locations.

thanks all - lots of food for thought

@twentyyearsagotoday would you consider a cruise? My research says they split into age groups. The other two on my list is Sun Gardens in Croatia and Mitsis in Kos that both run football camps run by a football club or ex pro.

IMO, Sani has enough to keep teens entertained. Re Ikos, would depend on individual hotel but overall less teen-friendly.

We have friends who go to Westin Costa Navarino and love it for tween age kids. I haven’t been myself but it does look like a rare combo of luxury and water slides (& various other facilities)

Sorry to ask, but what’s the plumbing arrangement at Sani? We haven’t been to Greece for a very long time due to fear of ‘the bin’…😬

minipie · 14/05/2026 21:05

I haven’t been to Sani but as far as I am aware it is the same everywhere in Greece. It is the municipal pipes which aren’t large enough to handle loo roll so no resort can get round this even if they upgrade their own resort plumbing.

Thanks

Have you looked at Mark Warner? Might be a bit active for the adults but they have great teen clubs for water sports and stuff.
