We are looking at a big holiday in the West Coast of the US next summer. About 3.5 weeks. It's a lot of money.Kids will be almost 6 and almost 8. Would include two days at Disney.

Part of me feels they are too young, the other part of me feels our eldest is so into wildlife and he will love Yellowstone and our youngest is plucky and up for adventure.

Do it? Or wait?

I’m really glad you scaled back. And dropped the idea of camping - it will be so, so hot. And it’s wildfire season so the air quality ‘can’ be terrible (my mom lives in New Mexico). I am American but immigrated to Scotland 20 years ago and my kids are always surprised by ‘nature’ in the states. It’s not the free and open space we have in Scotland - there are trails and restrictions and hordes of people. Still lots of pretty places of course but it’s different to what they’re used to here and much more tiring for them. So I’d check things like parking times and traffic at particular times and maybe specific tours too.

Thanks

I looked at booking flights today. They were more expensive than had been quoted by the agent. So I did like for like, exactly the same flights as per the original itinerary

Agent - 6k
Me. - 7.4 k

Why?!
