Cruising in November (North Sea)

My sister and I are booked to go on a short cruise from Southampton to Bruges next week. She’s had a very hard time due to an awful bereavement and hasn’t had a decent holiday in years. So I convinced her that this would be an ideal opportunity to try out cruising to see if she likes it.
Unfortunately, she’s getting cold feet as she’s worried it might be rough as it’s the North Sea and it’s November. I’ve tried to reassure her by saying it’s a big boat which can withstand big waves, should there be any. Can anyone out there with any cruising experience on a similar route advise anything else I can say to her to make her feel better about it? Thanks.

They are very stable and she will have a fantastic time

I’ve been in late November to Bruges, wasn’t rough at all and it’s really only in the channel

It will be safe and stable, but sorry to tell you some passengers (and crew) will be impacted by sea sickness. I travelled from Harwich through the north sea a few years ago and it was choppy and I was affected for about 8 hours and had to lay down until it passed. Reception had sickness medication which helped. It did not impact the cruise overall and we had a fantastic time. Maybe take some precautions? Take medication, wrist bands, etc just in case.

Thanks so much. She lost her son (my nephew) in terrible circumstances last year and really needs this.

Great advice, thank you.
