hi i wonder if anybody can help?
my dd is going to spain with my parents, her surname is my dps name and obviously my parents have a different surname. do they just need her passport or will they need some other kind of document to say they can take her out of the country?
thanks.

I don't know about grandparents, but I have to travel with DD's birth certificate to show that I am indeed her mother (we also have different names).

Bumping because I'm interested in this too as I was thinking of sending DD with my mum at some point next year.

You will need to write a letter for your parents to take with them authorising them to have her with them. We went on holiday in half-term with one of DD's friends and this is what the passport office told me. Of course no-one at passport control asked to see it when we went through!

there was a thread about this a few weeks ago. I used to nanny and travelled with the children all the time on my own. I had a letter confirming who I was and that I was authorised to travel with the children. I also had a letter authorising me to allow any emergency medical treatment that may be required.
