AirBnB in Florence, Italy

Thinking of taking my daughter, 18, to Florence for ten nights next summer. I’ve found some flights from our local airport to Florence, via Amsterdam, so looking for somewhere to stay. I don’t want to stay in the same hotel room as her (if possible) so looking for an AirBnB. Can anyone recommend one close to the central train station (as planning a couple of trips to Rome and Pisa)?

Flights to Pisa or Bologna are cheap and direct and about an hour or so by train, seems a faff to go via Amsterdam unless you have a reason. Can’t help with air bnb but Florence is not that large so you would not need to be that close to the station.

Agree with the above - anywhere central is walkable to SMN train station. Just got back from there last week.

We flew in and out of Pisa.

@OpalFruitsMakeYourMouthWater Too hot in the summer! Try Easter or half terms! Much nicer for sightseeing.

It’s an easy walk from the centre to the train station. We stayed in an Airbnb 200m from the Duomo and had several trips out to Lucca, Siena, Bologna etc fro the station.
I wouldn’t go in the summer though as it’s so hot and crowded.

We stayed here last year. Great hosts. Ideal location.Quiet, working air con, little kitchen you can use. Would recommend.

Definitely easy to fly into Bologna or Pisa and get the train and Pisa flights tend to be pretty cheap so worth looking at. Also you could do visit to Pisa to tie in with flight.

We’re currently staying in La Firenze Sogna :) Francesca provides a fully stocked kitchen for breakfast too! It’s all been amazing so far.

We were there at the end of last month (previous visits in July and August due to work commitments) yet still found it hot and busy. In future we’d visit earlier or later.
Can’t help you with accommodation as we stay in the same hotel.
Seek out ribollita!

Not sure if there are any flights to Pisa from Newcastle. I’ll look but it sounds like it might be too hot in August.

We stayed in a lovely apartment in the Oltrarno area - I’d really recommend looking around there. Nice quiet neighbourhood but easily walkable to all the main sights. We went in July 2022 and it was hot but not a problem. Just make sure you have air con!

If I was flying from Newcastle, I would fly direct to Verona then get the train to Florence. I hate flight connections with a passion, having had a rubbish experience once with EasyJet. So I’d grab the opportunity to see a bit of Italy from a train, and maybe have a night in a hotel in Verona as part of the trip.
