Friends are going next week and suggested we join them. Have a 3 yr old and a 2 mnth old and no intentions of putting them in child care while there.

If you have been do you reccomend and what do you think of the village versus the hotel? Looks like the hotel has just been spruced up.

Have just got back from there, had a great couple of weeks. Tan is beginning to fade fast with this weather though!

We were in the Village and it was lovely. Had a family suite which had 3 beds downstairs and a bathroom and then then 2 beds upstairs and another bathroom. Very spacious. Marble stairs might be a bit of a problem, but they do have stair gates you can borrow.

Might well be unlikley tht you would get a childcare place at short notice anyway, so probably good you are not too fussed.

Bars prices and extras very expensive eg 3 euros for an icecream, which can really add up over a holiday. We took bus into local town at start of holiday and bought drinks (eg coke, apple juice) etc from local supermarket and put them in fridge in our room.

Food ok, though a bit repetitive. Good for kids to be able to pick and choose as everything is buffet style. Busy when we were there as part of our break was half term, but prob quieter in June.

Let me know if you want any other dtails.

Did you get to see the hotel rooms? And what does okay food mean? Was it healthy or greasy or relatively tasteless?

Did you go to bed when the kids did or did you use a listening service?

Thanks

they dont do a listening service any more but you can keep the kids up in the evening - they sit with you or you play with them on the sand - or book a babysitter - you can also use the drop in creche which is great for the older ones - videos etc

just to warn you - everyone says they wont use the clubs and then they do! the kids make friends, they do sailing/swimming/dancing etc and the older ones 3 plus especially love it - not compulsory though of course!

Never saw the hotel rooms, so can't help you there.

I thought the food was good, though by end of a 2 week holiday I would never have wanted to see a Greek salad again!
Adult meals very good, and theme nights such as Italian and Oriental. Always pentiful salad selection available and good veggie options.
Kids tea at 5.30pm not so great, but ours often just had a roll and then ate with us later.

No baby listening anymore. Drop in evening creche / sleep club available even for little ones.
Our DD often fell aslepp in buggy and we sat with her. DS ate with us or went off with his friends. We went back to room quite early and chilled out after kids in bed. we are not big drinkers / party animals anyway.

Great - hope that I can get the baby's passport in time to go as it does sound good. Good point about the clubs - forgot about the friend pull

for what its worth i think the staff are keener and better at the start of the season - ive heard they get tired by the end - no excuse but sort of inevitable

Went to Lakitira last year with our then 11 month old.

Child care was good in June.

Flight path was annoying but not terrible.

Food got boring in 2nd week.

Accomodation was good, marble stairs wouldn't be good for any children once able to walk.

We're probably going to try Neilson holidays this year, as Mark Warner was OK but not great.

The other thing is it didn't feel Greek at all, we could have been in any country in the world.
Hope this helps
