Jamaica is so, so, so great.
Avoid AI big mega hotels and look at Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, Geejam, maybe Jake's and Rockhouse.

BVIs definitely. You need a yacht for the best experience though. Deserted islands, great snorkelling and great anchorage’s. Hotels are available on main islands like Virgin Gorda and Tortola and Peter Island. It’s a very different experience to St Lucia, Antigua and Barbados. Other islands groups include around BequIa. That’s a great island too. Have fun.

Bear with, I’ll just pop out and buy a yacht then! ⚓️

@AutumnalLight You asked the question. Didn’t see a budget attached. You hire one with a captain and cook. Otherwise just stay on the big Islands as nearly everyone else does. Or rent a villa? There are local ferries and boat trips.

Watching! I’ve only ever been to Barbados and didn’t love it. Would be especially interested in islands with good snorkelling from the shore.

Shy didn’t you love it ?

Turks and Caicos! Just stunning, crystal clear water and beaches that beat some amazing ones we visited in Australia, which I didn’t think were beatable!

Ffs Poppy, don’t tell everyone.

Meant to say the best snorkelling near a beach is on St John USVI. The island is a national park and has places like Trunk Bay (haven’t been for a few years) and other reefs beside beaches. Mostly, the beaches are white sand and turquoise waters. It’s lovely to hire a car and see the beaches and swim. No one visiting St John or BVIs would think these beaches and swimming opportunities aren’t worth the effort of getting there.

Reading this thread and manifesting that one day I will have a favourite too! I've only been to Barbados over 20 years ago. It was fantastic.
