Florida gulf coast - spending money

We’re booked to go to the Siesta Key area and trying to think about spending money, mostly for food. We have breakfast at our hotel but will be eating out for dinner and probably a light bite at lunch.

I know that there’s a massive variety but roughly how much for a family of 4, 2 adults, 2 teens inc tip for a dinner? Not massive drinkers - maybe 1 drink each at dinner.

any recs for the area are welcome!

Around $170 for dinner.

Last year we find Clearwater to be London prices. But the tip expectation is on top.

Expensive. Entrees at $50 + tip was quite usual. Go to fast food joints if you want to save on that.

Always ask for a doggy bag if you have leftovers. Size of meals can be standard uk or mind blowing. It’s common to take leftovers away.

Thank you. I don’t want to do fast food very much so good to get an idea of what we’re looking at.

I find the more you pay, the less you get!

We've just returned from Miami on Wednesday and it's really expensive. We paid $60 for a breakfast for two of us which consisted of pancakes, strawberries, bacon and coffee!

We were in Siesta Key with two teens a couple of summers ago, I would budget 200 dollars a day. The restaurants in the Village are all really good and honestly the Mahi tacos in most places were delicious.

Doggy bag? No one has said that here for decades.

Just ask for a box, OP.

I live in Florida. A good meal for 2 adults is usually $100-$120.

Well whatever, the point remains you take your leftovers

Sounds good! Did you enjoy the area? I don’t know anyone that’s been irl

@Overthemoun yes we really enjoyed the few days there. It was at the back end of a busy trip to Universal, Kennedy, Coacoa beach and the Everglades so the DC enjoyed the chill. We had a house in the village with a small pool, enjoyed the beach, walked down to the drumming circle which they enjoyed. Went on a couple of shopping trips off key but spent most nights eating out at the good variety of places.
