City or Beach break for wheelchair user

Any recommendations for a European city or seaside break for me and my Mum who is a wheelchair user. We like architecture, culture, nice food and sunshine. Keen to avoid steep hills and cobbles. For either Feb or May half term. We have been to Malaga which I would thoroughly recommend as even the old town had marble pavements rather than cobbles. Anybody know any other gems?

Valencia, both beach and city and a stunning park

Vienna recently won an award for the most wheelchair-friendly city in Europe. Almost all forms of public transport, major attractions and restaurants/cafes have been totally adapted.

I wouldn’t go February. It’s winter in Europe and sitting in a wheelchair she’s likely to get cold.

Copenhagen in May?

Barcelona could work. Or Seville though some of the Barrio Santa Cruz is quite cobbled - the metro system is good though.

I use a wheelchair.

firstly, can she walk at all or does she just use the wheelchair? Beaches are very challenging if she cannot walk at all.

i have found Barcelona good, also Vienna, had a good week just outside Nerja at Easter - the beach there has concrete ramps down to the sea and also fully accessible toilets.

Sorry, double posting…

we did Athens at Feb half term. Hotel was very accessible and I even managed a trip out to Delphi although much of the site was not accessible.
the city itself is manageable by wheelchair and the main museums are accessuble.

the lift up to the Parthenon closes in high winds (and their definition of high seems to be any)

Just back from Vienna with disabled child; very easy to get about and whilst there is no beach per say, they have the danube which does have patches of man made sand to explore. I think May over February though; just for it to be warmer!

Las Palmas on Gran Canaria. There is a very long prom with shops, cafes and bars and ramps where you can push a wheelchair down onto shaded platforms on the beach. The old town is interesting with good shopping.

Thanks all for suggestions. Interestingly Mum has been to both Vienna and Athens relatively recently.

She can walk a little @Octavia but is quite frail so agree she would struggle on the beach proper. The description of Las Palmas on Gran Canaria sounds perfect for the beachy type holiday I was thinking of.

So am going to suggest Las Palmas for Feb half-term or Barcelona, Valencia or Copenhagen for May half term. Although I quite fancy Vienna myself as have never been!
