Paris

We’re off to Paris on Friday and absolutely gutted to see the balmy summer evenings I envisaged will actually be days of pouring rain 😭. I think it might be the tail end of hurricane Erin. I now have no idea what to wear and lots of plans are out the window. Does anyone have any great, rainy-day ideas they could share?

we did this as liked the idea of hop on hop off but any of the boat trips would be good in the rain.

hopefully the reality will be better than the forecast

The only Hop On Hop Off on the Seine river - Batobus

Visit Paris by boat on the Seine River. Create your own itinerary while exploring Paris. Batobus gives you the freedom to hop on and off as many times as you want.

It’s not all bad news; it means you’ll be able to appreciate the absolutely amazing hot chocolate at Angelina!
On or most recent visit, we enjoyed Atelier des Lumières and the catacombs (although children need to be 10+ for this).
This is a fun activity to do in the Louvre https://thatmuse.com/louvre/
If you’re happy to spend a bit, there are some family-friendly croissant and macaron making workshops in English. I can’t remember the one we did but I could look it up if you’re interested.

The forecast doesn’t look that bad. It looks similar to when we went the other week and in reality other than two light rain showers it was lovely.

Thanks so much for the positive suggestions! I’ll have a look at these and cross my fingers that the weather won’t be too bad

I second the catacombs, though they definitely allow kids younger than 10, our youngest was just turned 8 when we went. There are loads of museums to keep you dry and Versailles is lovely, even in the rain.
