Majorca - Family friendly hotels

EnchantedToMeetYou2 · 17/08/2025 14:39

Looking for recommendations for nice family friendly hotels in Majorca please 😊

Pre-school aged DC so ideally:

  • decent pools with a kids pool
  • easy access to beach
  • walking distance to shops/restaurants etc
  • Nice traditional local restaurants
  • ideally 4*+ and modern - happy to spend on a “nice” hotel
  • quieter resorts - I’m not keen on Palma Nova/Magaluf area. Have previously stayed in CalaD’Or pre DC and liked it there but would happily consider other areas
  • All Inclusive preferred purely for ease of drinks etc when at the pool. We usually eat 50% of meals out regardless so nice local restaurants still needed 😊

Equally happy to take suggestions for Menorca - never been but have heard it’s good for family friendly places?

We stayed at Tui Biomar in June and enjoyed it. Admittedly our dc is older - a teen but there were lots of families with younger children and it was a lovely place. (There’s an adults only side and a family side). Sa Coma beach just down the road. You can easily get taxis to different coves if you want somewhere quieter. The food was of a good standard. There’s a whole load of hotels in that area to choose from.

Pirate Village in Santa Ponsa

We loved the Hoposa Villaconcha in Puerto Pollenca, elegant hotel, quality feel to everything, lovely pools including a lane swimming one where they set up a WIBIT twice a day. Kids pools including little slides. Spa you can book and almost have to yourself. Beautiful beach about 4 mins away and the town is just gorgeous, so many lovely restaurants and the famous Pine Walk. Very relaxing break with children.

@Unverified Oh sorry, that would have helped 🙄🙈

For late may/early June next year. Budget £3.5-4k ish for the week - even better if we could get 10 days for that😊

@THISnewbeginning Santa Ponsa is another resort we’re not overly keen on, sorry I should have mentioned that one.
Thank you though 😊

Iberostar in Alcudia, we loved it a few years ago. On the beach, good pools and (at the time) fantastic AI.

@Inthepark This sounds perfect 😊 Will take a look, thank you! I’m assuming plenty of things within a walkable distance? Would rather not be dealing with car seats and taxis other than for our transfers 😊

We once had a lovely holiday in Port de Soller when dc was small. It was the only beach type holiday we did but we all enjoyed it. We also rented a car & explored the whole island.

I’ve been looking at this hotel but it seems very high rise with little out door space. Is there any garden space, enough sunbeds and enough space in the pool?

Forgottenmyphone · 17/08/2025 15:12

Zafiro Palace Alcudia is very family friendly. There are at least 2 kids pools, one of which has slides. There’s a kids section in the buffet restaurant and the entertainment is good too.

Yes, out with school holidays - last opportunity to do so so would like to make the most of it 😂

If you eat out 50% of the time, is AI really worth it unless you and husband very heavy drinkers?

AlexandraJJ · 17/08/2025 15:39

I can recommend playa de Muro Iberostar selection. Fab beach too

If you use Google maps you can see what a great location it is - about 10 mins walk along the beach to the centre. The beach is amazing - we went may half term and the sea was warm as it's shallow when you go in.

@Laxoverhols Not heavy drinkers at all and I guess we’d need to look at the cost of AI at each place individually but we do enjoy having the AI just to be able to casually get breakfast/lunch etc as we want it if we’re at the hotel and to get drinks/soft drinks/water etc on pool days.
I assume this is even more convenient with DC too.

We enjoy some dinners out to try out local places too though 😊
We aren’t able to holiday abroad every year due to work schedules etc so when we get the chance I’m happy to be a bit indulgent on holiday and go for as nice a hotel as we can afford and pay for convenience 😊

Go half board or b&b if you’re light drinkers, one young child (AI is brilliant with teens!) and eat out 50% of time

and money you save… make a nicer hotel or better room

OverlyFragrant · 17/08/2025 18:05

Alcudia has some lovely hotels and the beach is fantastic.

3KidsPlusDdog · 17/08/2025 18:06

Look at the hotels in Puerto Pollensa. It sounds like exactly the type of town you’d like.

Okinwahoo · 17/08/2025 18:07

We've been to multiple different Iberostars in Alcudia/ Playa de Muro. All great.

Key for us was to make sure the hotel was 4x, had good food reviews and the layout was frontline beach /beachbar/ pool/ apartments then road. Sea and beaches are fab up there.

LadyNellCardross · 17/08/2025 18:08

Another vote for the Villaconcha. It was recommended to me by a Mumsnetter about 10 years ago and we've been back several times. A lovely friendly hotel which is great for little kids in a lovely town.

EnchantedToMeetYou2 · 19/08/2025 13:47

Thank you 😊

Currently looking at Villaconcha and the Iberostar Esmerelda Park in Cala d’Or.

Jet2 estimates crazy transfer times - like 2 hours to Cala d’Or! So just looking at various transfer options too!
