Swimming fun and safety for young kids

We’re going on a eurocamp holiday with a one and three year old. Any advice for fun things to bring with us? Im also concerned about pool safety as I imagine the pools will be busy and my eldest can’t float/swim. Im looking at splash vests. Has anyone tried them before? Thank you!

The vest aren’t really recommended. You can try a noodle or discs with the 3yo but essentially you are in the water with them. Mine never needed much to play with, stacking cups that they could fill, empty and refill kept them occupied for ages.

is the 1yo mobile?

Are you going to France? Take swim nappies with you they are v v expensive to buy.

1 to 1 when in the water.

We popped inflatable armbands on occasionally but he mostly splashed around in the shallows. (We didn't put a toe in the pool, preferred the sea/beach)

At those ages I always put arm bands on mine on holiday. They do the job and take up no room in your luggage. Of course they still need supervision and eyes on them at all times but it lets them have fun without constantly clinging on to you. I know they don’t encourage a good position for learning to swim but holidays are not swimming lessons, and mine don’t appear to have been harmed and learned to swim just fine.

Thank you. Will try armbands and bring a noodle. Is there a reason the vests aren’t recommended?
